VanVleet declined his $22.8 million player option with the Raptors.

Of course, just because a player declines his player option does not guarantee that he's actually leaving that team. He could just be in search of a new contract. Whether it's with the Raptors or some 1 else, though, who knows?

The rockets just have to pay somebody to hit the salary floor and getting a short deal on a player someone would trade for and give them a pick is a good place to do it. Pay him and trade him to a good team who can actually make use of him, but don’t have the money to sign him out right. Just hold him long as required and flip it. Have to spend a lot of that money anyway.

I’d ship his ass to Portland or Miami quick as the cba allowed.
