Curry, the other ones could all be legitimately debated.

I would say Steph and Russ, edge to Steph’s shooting if only because we can’t even play devils advocate like we can with #4 (by using the super-premium placed on rim protection as an important disclaimer).

Todays league places a similar premium on shooting, but I think few would argue a teleported version of a previous generations player approaches Steph’s shooting CV. There are several players (Hakeem, Duncan or Robinson) that we can envision matching Russ’s defensive impact in the 60’s. Perhaps they wouldn’t, but it’s halfway conceivable.

Curry, nobody has a argument over him as the GOAT shooter

Jokic is arguably the GOAT passer

Ben Wallace is arguably the GOAT defender

You can say that a lot of guys are the GOAT dunker

Magic > Jokic as a passer. Jokic definitely one of the greats though. I take Rodman over Wallace on Defense. Wallace s the better rim protector but Rodman is better every where else. I might put Olajuwon over both.

2)Magic Johnson is the greatest passer in NBA history.

4) Steph Curry is the greatest shooter in NBA history.

1) Vince Carter is the greatest dunker in NBA history.

3)Bill Russell is the greatest defender in NBA history.

carter is probably the undisputed of these 4.
Majic was a greater pass, but would not say he was the best in history
Russell was a great defender , but Akeem maybe the best, and Ewing could maybe out do Russell.
Rodman was right there as well.
Curry can throw daggers , but also seen enough airballs where I would not put him at best in History.
Kareem was maybe the best in history.

Some people don't understand how dominant Russell was on the defensive end.

'62 Celtics DRTG - 85.1 (#1 in the NBA) : League average DRTG: 93.6 (+8.5 net)
'63 Celtics DRTG - 87.4 (#1 in the NBA) : League average DRTG: 95.9 (+8.5 net)
'64 Celtics DRTG - 83.8 (#1 in the NBA) : League average DRTG: 94.6 (+10.8 net, NBA record)
'65 Celtics DRTG - 84.2 (#1 in the NBA) : League average DRTG: 93.6 (+9.4 net)

That's 4 straight seasons of dominance, for comparison sake the '08 Celtics had a +8.6 net, but never again got close to that dominance.

Curry and Carter are undeniable. Could make a weak case for Stockton over Magic and a solid case for Wilt, Hakeem, Duncan, or Garnett over Russell.

Not Stockton, but Nash has a legit debate against Magic as a passer. I'd say passing is the most debatable from the OP.

I forgot about Jokic. He has a case because he didn't need to dominate the ball to dime like Magic. A center getting 10+ dimes a game is totally unheard of comparatively position wise.

Anybody doubting Vince Carter needs to watch his Raptor highlights and not just the dunk contest. He's easily the GOAT dunker.

I would say shooting because it's the most objective out of the three. You could see the numbers and see clearly Curry is by far the leader.

Passing, dunking and defense is less so.

https://youtu.be/ig5fN6XVq-4The problem with dunking is... what are we measuring? It's the most subjective one out of the op.

Style? Lavine and Gordon definitely give him a run for his money. Gobert has the record for most dunks in a season since they kept track, so is it him? Shaq didn't have a lot of style, but is able to dunk on demand more than any other player.

Just taking off on 2 elite rim protectors with virtually no gather. It's honestly insane.

Wilt averaged 28 ppg and 28 rpg on Russell for a career and 34 ppg and 24 rpg on everyone else.

1) Vince being the greatest dunker (there's numerous other contenders, especially for the in-game category where Vince doesn't rate at all)

2) Curry is the best 3-point shooter (MJ is the best 2-point shooter)
