The Atlanta Hawks are giving Dejounte Murray a four-year $120 million extension.
Murray averaged around 21, five, and six last season.
So the Hawks really are their backcourt. Trae Young and Murray are it. where the they go the hawks go. I'm not really sure how much I like them as a combo, though. I sort of liked them more as individuals than together. not sure.

I think it would be a great singing for every team and should be a good duo with him and young. Just got to get more shooting throughout the lineup.

I’d say it’s a fairly small one. What’s 120 million these days? The rookie max extension is more than the ten year vet Supermax was like…year before last.

Huge extension? I'm surprised he didn't get the max. He's not a max player mind you, but he's better than Fred Van Vleet.
He'll be making less than Jerami Grant.
I might be looking to find another agent if I were him.

It appears 120 is his max somehow. Weird cba thing.

That's not surprising. They completely mortgaged their future to the Spurs...you kinda gotta stay invested in a decision like that. Murray was their best player many games anyway (Tray fans stay hating)

It’s not that big a contract as others pointed out. He could have held out and asked for double that next summer. This is actually a steal for Atlanta

Yea this is steal, Murray still has all star potential, 30 mil is just solid 3rd starter money right now, rookie max is what a fringe all star gets now. Murray couldn’t get more right now because with new cba you can only sign for 140% increase. Maybe they could’ve negotiated a salary increase this year and give extension based off that number like kings with sabonis but idk if that was possible, kings had cap space hawks don’t

Fair price in this market...hes not THAT guy...but a decent piece on the right team
Having said that...can't see the Hawks going anywhere
