View Full Version : KAJ was a better scorer than Lebron

Both of them played 20 seasons, so it's a good time to compare. This thread is about who is simply a better scorer.

We know Lebron scored more total points in 20 seasons, but you can't just look at that single stat, especially since Lebron played in the era of spamming three pointers. Kareem played half his career with no three piont line, and he only ever took a handful of three point shots.

Also, he started his NBA career later in his life, so out of his 20 seasons, he got to play fewer of them in his physical prime than Lebron did.

So when we compare the two side by side, Lebron in 20 seasons made 14,152 field goals.

Kareem outdid him by over a thousand, with 15,837 field goals in 20 seasons. https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/kareem-total-field-goals

That's a huge difference. Kareem blows him out of the water there. Furthermore, he did it on much better efficiency. Lebron's career field goal % is 50.5, while Kareem's was 55.9.

5.4% is, again, a huge difference.

When you look at it in the proper context, KAJ is hands down the better scorer.

So Kareem needed 1700 more made shots to score less points, and your argument is that makes him a better scorer?

Peak capability and go-to ability (touch) - Kareem beats Lebron in both - Kareem could average more ppg and he was arguably the goat iso player or go-to move (and therefore commanded doubles and defensive adjustment) - only MJ compares in these areas of peak capability and go-to moves.. Otoh, everyone knows Lebron's mode of offense is mostly dribbling and bullying but not great touch that can score on command like the skyhook or turnaround.. Kareem had soft touch and finesse like Hakeem, while Lebron has more robotic stone hands like Dwight - an entirely lower dimension of scorer that needs great scoring help, while Kareem or MJ were that superior scorer that didn't need as much help

At least you tried to make a point this time. It’s a terrible one, but I commend the effort I guess.

I think OP realizes everyone here sees him as a joke, so he made a thread to try to seem smart. Even though he failed, I commend him for not starting his day calling Axe a dingus for an hour straight.

Did you learn what an advanced stat is yet? No?

Then you're still a low IQ casual.

If you can't understand the context I clearly laid out, that's your problem. :confusedshrug:

Great counter-argument.

Great counter-argument.

:biggums:

Why would I counter-argue something so stupid? :lol

There are plenty of real arguments you could make for Kareem over Lebron as a scorer. You chose a bad one.

By OP's logic. Hal Greer was a better scorer than Iverson.

Greer had a higher FG% and has more career field goals made.

This clown wouldn't know logic if it bit him.

You have a VERY simplistic mind. Iverson won 4 scoring titles, if I'm not mistaken, I don't think Greer won a single one.

On the other hand, KAJ had double the scoring titles Lebron did.

Nice try with the apples to organges comparison though. :lol

Sometimes you have to mix it up a little.

Kareem’s not a guard most likely not going take 3s in any era besides today. True he didn’t have access to 3pt shot but then it’s a complete double standard. You can’t use fg% in a comparison when one guy takes a bunch of 3s, efg% at least

We all knew you'd get shook by this thread. You're kind of proof that Bronie fluffers don't have properly functioning brains.

I didn't read the OP but it seemed obvious he was about to make a fool out himself again. Thanks for confirming. :lol

You can tell who the weaker scorer is by who needed more scoring help - that's obviously Lebron

Passers like Lebron and Magic need great scoring help, while possession-finishers, aka "bailout guys" like kareem or expert jumpshooters like MJ, Curry, Dirk or Kobe - these guys needed less scoring help to win

KAJ also didn't have a reputation for disappearing in the 4th quarter.
