Things:

James Harden a top four 2 guard of all time

There has ever been a league in which prime Larry Bird wouldn’t be in the conversation for best player

Karl Malone is a top 3 power forward of all time

That Hakeem in his prime would seem outclassed on the same floor with anyone who ever played basketball.

That any of the following DPOYs were ever the best defender in the nba:

Gasol
Marcus Smart
Maybe Marcus Camby

That Larry Brown is the reason Darko was a bust. Dude didn’t even like basketball and his European teammates hated him before he even came over.

Continue.

That's a great song.

Edit-I'm cracking over here watching and listening to the video you posted and watching your Spider-Man dance to the music, made me chuckle.

Karl Malone is a top 3 power forward of all time .

If we are talking peak wise, then no. Malone isn't a top 3 pf. But he has a great argument for top 3 if we are ranking players by career.

Who was the best defender in 2013? Is it foolish to think Gasol was better defensively than Duncan and Noah?

I think these rankings all come down to some unspeakable formula of peak play combined with career. Nobody will be able to articulate such a thing to you.

If you wanna go by career you have to weigh career totals awfully heavy to get him top 3 considering 5 power forwards are both mvps and champions as best player and that doesn’t even include Barkley. He’s tied for 3/4th in all star games as a 4. He has the second most all nba teams but 4 guys have at least 11. Does 2-3 more all nba seasons make up for a ring career wise? It would seem not when we talk about guys like Elgin and Harden.

Karl minus 01 and 02 all nba teams but having won a ring in 97 had a better career didnt he?

Of course he did.

So I’m not really sure he has a top 3 career case. He might have better peak case depending on how heavily you weigh rings. And as I said…take 2 all nba teams and a few thousand points but add a ring…he’s ranked higher. He’s missing the biggest piece of the “But he had a better career” argument.

That Dwight was a bad post player. It wasn't pretty and he had issues with certain matchups. But on the whole it was extremely effective and the cornerstone of great half-court offenses.

Dwight’s issue was he came along when the great centers of the past were well within fans memory. He was being compared to Shaq and Hakeem types. To Duncan. Compared to them he wasn’t great in the post but he’s ahead of what people expect their designated “dunker” 5 to be now. He’s obviously no Jokic but he was a handful down there.

Marc Gasol was a legit DPOY for sure imo. He was strong, huge, and extremely intelligent.

Smart probably wasn't individually but he brought an intangible vibe that permeated the culture and transformed it to be tough and defensive minded.

Gasol was a great defender like everyone who won it but like Smart he won it because of his teams defense being so great someone from that team had to win it. And I’d say both times they picked the wrong guy. Timelord was better than Smart but he missed too many games I believe and Tony Allen was the generational defender on Memphis.
