Identical twin lottery picks.

Most seem to think both will be great but wouldn’t it suck to be literally identical to your superstar brother and end up a role player?

We have had plenty of brothers but never identical twins. Is this pretty much just gonna expose one teams coaching and development staff if one becomes a star and not the other?

They either have to both be good or both be bums or someone should be fired.

The Lopez brothers are identical twins

And there's more than just genes that makeup someone... ex. phenotype -- which is the expression itself.

The Morris twins are pretty close in capability, but with the Lopez twins there is clearly a superior brother. We'll see with the Thompson twins

I was actually gonna ask about the Lopez brothers. Wasn’t sure. I do suppose if you’re one the same team your whole life you do have to learn to play slightly different roles or at least positions. Would alter skill set a bit.

The morris twins I know aren’t identical in appearance but I guess they could be genetically. I heard a guy who worked with him claim you can tell them apart by head shape.

Meh I don't know their outcomes will solely be based on nurture. They're similar athletically of course but they play differently.

It could just boil down to the fit on their respective teams and who ends up adapting better.

I don't think you quite understand the science or what the word identical references. Identical twins refers to the same genes, not appearance. There could be 400 people with the same genes and they'd all look a bit different. How much of each gene is expressed is as important as the gene itself. Certain genes are never expressed and some are overexpressed (ex. oncogenes)

I am aware it’s a genetics issue. And that nobody ends up identical in appearance fully anyway. I just didn’t think the Lopez brothers were identical. The Morris brothers I didn’t think of at all.

I never even noticed Caleb Martin has an identical twin in the league what are the odds of 4 pair of identical twins being in any workplace with so few employees as the nba?

Genetics playing such a role on height obviously makes it more likely in the nba but…doesn’t it feel like it should be really unlikely?

There have been a good amount of them. Cody and Caleb Martin are another set...

While identical twins, their games are different. Ausar plays taller and is more of an all-around swiss army knife 2-way forward. Amen plays more with the ball in his hands and is more of a scorer & creator.

Dick and Tom Van Arsdale. They had surprisingly similar careers.
Horace and Harvey were twins. Obviously Horace was better.

Twins seem to not have identical games , but more less compliment each other.

The big thing is when one loses the other twin cry's.
