No not a Westbrook or Jokic stat line. I want you to build me a core of players with the following conditions…

1 player who has never scored 25ppg. One who has never scored 20. 2 who have never scored 15. Not rounding. 25 solid. Anything less is fair. 24.9 is fine. 19.9. You get it.

You pick your 4. They will be matched with an unknown supporting cast that you can expect to be average and they have to play a 7 game series vs one of these teams chosen at random before game 1:

17 Warriors
96 Bulls
2013 Heat
85 Lakers
08 Celtics

No way to predict who you play. Just build the best core you can for whatever situation.

I feel KG and Magic will be easy picks for your sub 25 guy but there are so many great points who never hit 20 you may want to save that spot for your second pick so maybe skip Magic?

KG feels good as a top pick. Maybe Manu as my second? The sub 15 I could take prime Draymond and ensure an epic defense with he and KG destroying penetration and switching everything but I need some points….not many scorers who never scored 15.

KG, Manu, and Draymond would be an interesting lineup but I just might have to start with Magic to have enough offense. You could even build a team around Reggie and some great defenders but I probably wouldn’t.

Reggie, Nash, and prime Draymond with a Raja Bell type?

Russell
Draymond
Kidd
Reggie Miller

On 2nd thought. doesn't look like Jason Kidd qualifies.

That's pretty brutal, off the top of my head I'd go

Magic
Cooper
Battier
Walton

Maybe sub Russell for Ben Wallace

Wallace
Draymond
Miller
Nash

Upon further review, you could swap Kidd for Nash if you want.

it’s tough because you can assemble the greatest Defense of all time and give them an incredible point guard but you feel like you need more outfits with the unknown supporting cast. If you draw the Warriors, that’s your ass with some of these teams.

Stop doubling down. There are very few NBA regulars who have never scored 25 in a game much less 20 or 15. And we certainly wouldn't be building a squad of those few to take on some of the most dominant teams ever...

Now I'm trying to think of regular NBA players who aren't bench guys playing limited minutes who have never scored 25 in a game. I was thinking of young bigs who don't play a ton of minutes like Walker Kessler but he scored 31 in a game last year.

Onyeka Okongwu's career high is 23. Jaxson Hayes 21. Isaiah Stewart 24.

I'm drawing a blank after that. You'd have to really go up and down the rosters of bad teams to find more.

Dillon fvcking Brooks AVERAGED 25 for a playoff series, so I'd imagine the number of guys who had even a somewhat lengthy career to never score 25 points in a game is pretty rare. And like you said, why would we be picking these players to go up against the greatest teams of all time :lol

So a team led by Steve Kerr has a chance to beat the dominant teams listed by OP?

Steve Kerr and Mark Eaton are probably the GOATs to have never scored 25.

Ben Wallace too. He's probably the actual GOAT here.

Yeah the only chance is if Rasheed plays more agressively because we all know he has the skill level to match up with anyone at his position.

Yea sheed is one of the most confusing players ever. Always played below his actual talent it seems, but also had a crazy passion and competitive drive at the same time. Something doesn’t quite add up.
