For comparison sake, lil mikey at the same age shot below league average fg and ts percentages.

Old LeBron > better than 1st team all nba wing
Old jordone > worse than league average

LeOuchie.

Tatum averaged 30 and lead the league in total points scored. James averaged 29 and 7, excellent numbers but he missed 27 games. If Old Lebron was better than first team AllNBA wing he would be a first team AllNBA wing.

He led a super team to the lottery the year before. Think long and hard about that. VERY long and hard.

What did Jane do in the playoffs this year that Tatum did not? How many 50 point playoff games did he have to have for people like you to stop being stupid?

That's a trick question of course.

What?

Year in year out since 2012 LeBron has proven himself to be the best playoff performer, he wasn't close to 100% this year and still manhandled the Grizzlies and the defending champs en route to the conference finals

Tatum on the other hand shat the bed against the Warriors in the finals and was vastly outplayed by Jimmy Butler 2 years in a row in the ECF and disappeared from the face of the earth in game 7

Give me LeBron even at his current age

Didn't know we were supposed to factor in stuff from over a decade ago when evaluating players right now... largely because that doesn't make sense. This isn't about who had had the better career. Tatum got the conference playoff mvp award after he got so badly outplayed by butler in 2022. This year's Game 7 was the product of him turning his ankle but he still stayed in the game. Please let me know how many 50 point games James had last postseason.

I don't care about no statpadded 50 point game where half of his points came when the game was already over

It's close but I'd rather have LeBron on my team, just way more reliable when It counts

You can go with your boy Tatum and continue to get let down year after year

Sure let's pretend that James team wasn't spot this season it's cool. Ignore the conference playoff mvp award and act like the guy with the record for game 7 and play-in game points is a choker.

And yet somehow Tatum got first team AllNBA over him. Maybe you should talk to the voters and explain to them that missing 27 games doesn't matter.

The finals was bad. But James hasn't dominated a playoff to get his team to the finals since 2020. He's no longer the caliber of player that can carry a team and instead is a guy that needs his minutes managed to hopefully contribute to a playoff run. You may not realize this but he's 39. No one carries a team at age 39.

Neither LeBron or Tatum are "carrying" teams

But in a big playoff game LeBron is more reliable, Tatum has too many 0-8 from 3 with 6 turnover games for my liking

Tatum scored the most points of of anyone in the NBA last season. Celtics would still be quality without him but that demonstrates that he's the kind of player that can carry an offense for a while season. James missed 27 games. Simple stiff. Tatum has records for both play in as well as game 7 but you want to act like he's just a choker. He's not perfect but you're being stupid.

Most people don't realize that when Lebron was scoring all those points last season, he was expending the team's offense to do so - he was sacrificing chemistry, fits, ball movement and brand of ball to score, so the Lakers were missing the play-in.

Once he got hurt and the team took off, he was forced to play off-ball when he returned - he knew that he couldn't mess up the Lakers' chemistry with his trashy ball-domination.. it's proof that his brand of ball has always been shitty and held back teammates or teams from reaching their full potential... Otoh, expert jumpshooters like Curry or Jordan facilitate ball movement, so they allow a better brand of ball that allows the team to reach full capacity from a chemistry and strategy standpoint.

Damn, one series constitutes as a choker? Was it the biggest stage? Yes. Did he play awful? Yes.

How about dropping 46 in Game 6 against Milwaukee on the road down 3-2? How about turning it on in the fourth quarter against the Sixers in Philly down 3-2? How about dropping 50 in game 7 against Philly?

He has very low lows, but to flat out call him a choker when he puts together performances like I mentioned, it's just ignorance.

You can't miss over 25 games every year and still be top 10. Being able to play is actually the most important thing.
