In the past some NBA superstars stayed in the league while they were still very good and borderline all stars, while some of them clearly faded away quite a bit, while a handful could barely do anything anymore.

I have sort of forgotten the exact breakdown of that so I may have not worded that perfectly.

But in general I think most great players retire when they've clearly lost a few steps, but not to the point where they are barely playable.

Which NBA superstars do you think will stay in the league far longer than they should? Or maybe that won't happen anymore.

Lebron could stick around.

Age has mellowed his narcissism, so I could see him stick around as long as someone is paying him, and as long as Silver keeps the rules for his benefit.

Could we see Lebron start on the bench? Probably not, but he could be in a Tim Duncan, Shaq, situation, start the game, but only play 20 minutes a game. He could probably do that for 5 more years honestly.

you haven't been paying much attention to his failing health the past few years. He's not going to last forever

I am a fan of him. But admittedly, he should retire and make room for new talent.
