Theres been talk lately of old eras vs current era, and I have to admit it feels like toughness really peaked from 04 to 20, and then completely nosedived to all time lows after that.
Todays players get soft rules and load management, and theres no emphasis on any skill but the palmed-ball crossover. Prior to ‘21 you still had elite dynasty type teams like the Spurs, Warriors, and Lebron. But starting in ‘21 theres just been nothing to respect about the competition level. I gotta admit, this is a nancy boy era, but I want to emphasize that it really only became that way AFTER the grueling 2020 bubble championship was completed, and the titles between ‘12 and ‘20 were particularly impressive on an alltime level. But Ill be honest, I respect the game of 80s players more than I do 2023 players.
Do you agree?

I felt like the league was really strong until the 2010's, then it became weak AF from around 2012-2020. You had collusions, bail out shots, suspicious suspensions, role players winning FMVP, then to top it all off a postseason without travel or fans. Since the bubble ring though, I feel like the league has really rounded back into form over the last 3 years, and looks to be in great shape going forward.

Which 35-year old title is more respected?
PLAYOFF PPG
2020 Davis........... 27.7 (lottery in 2019 to champion in 2020)
2020 Lebron......... 27.6
1998 Jordan......... 32.4
1998 Pippen......... 16.8 (missed 1st half of season and Bulls still 1st and #1 defense)
^^^ The fraud gets carried by teammate, while the goat doubles his sidekick's scoring and 10x in the clutch-time (literally)
* AD had goat efficiency and led Lebron in scoring, while Pippen had the worst shooting splits ever for a playoff run of 15 games and 35 MPG (3-pt era) and was doubled in scoring by Jordan (while many teammates led in clutch - Pippen was Andre Roberson in the clutch, aka completely unavailable in halfcourt sets in the 4th, aka 4 on 5 like Rodman, so the Bulls were 3 on 5 with Rodman/Pippen on floor in clutch-time)
Full Court

Jokic's ring against a much better Heat team is worth at least 5 Mickey Mouse rings.
