Title.

I really don't know. Two different types of offensive players. Could make an argument for either.

Interesting question and could be broken down with many different answers. My lazy one is giannis’ close out game in the finals was one of the most insane things i’ve seen

The one that isn't a role player in the last 5 minutes of the game in the playoffs vs elite competition.

I'm not sure that's the best logic. Would you say the same about Shaq? Poor free-throw shooting and a lack of scoring range and diversity are weaknesses. No doubt about that. But there's more to offense than clutch scoring.

Shaq wasnt a role player in the last 5 minutes though. He "made them when they counted". Statistically speaking, his FT rate was much better in the clutch.

And due to the era, he was never fouled on purpose because going 1/2 was still a win.

correct ... but Giannis defense is way under rated.
Dirk was fair to good.

Cmon man... this isn't even close. Dirk led better ranked offenses and dominated without having to bend the rules to an extreme degree ie offensive fouling traveling and carrying.

Giannis offensive game wouldnt even be credible to exist under even liberally allowed past rules. If you want to argue Giannis talk defense and rebounding. Comparing him to an offensive GOAT is an insult to basketball.

The better question is Dirk + Giannis... or Lebron?

Give me Lebron all DAY.

I'll go with the expert jumpshooter that IS the closer and doesn't NEED a closer like Giannis needs Middleton or a closer like that

Its Dirk.

Just as efficient, if not moreso in the playoffs. But clearly a better scorer in the half-court and during crunchtime.

His 2011 playoff run is the stuff of legends.

Giannis is the better open court, regular season offensive player.

Nowitzki is the better half court, playoffs/finals offensive player.
