If they're serious about not using him I guess that's one way for teams to start standing up to disgruntled stars. They may end up eating one of Embiid's prime years with this though.

I am guessing Harden now regret opting in. Opting in to immediately demand a trade puts the team in a rough spot but still better than if he has just left because they do have his use rights to get something out of. if they can't get a good deal I can see letting him rot.
