Looks like he went to the gym to keep his mind off that psycho. Is it possible he actually gained weight putting on muscle? He looks like 300 pounds of brick. I’d almost put him on a minutes restriction like Embiid was on just to see how he looks the first half.

Should have been a running back or a tight end.

231 million dollar Supermax says otherwise. Running backs out here mad they can’t get second contracts.

RB’s are usually under 6’0 and I’m assuming have never been close to Zion’s weight. Just for reference he’s 30 pounds heavier than Jerome Bettis, I don’t think he’d make for an effective RB. Fullback or tight end would be more his lane.

Brandon Jacobs is the closest thing to Zion I’ve ever seen run the ball.

Yea well LeBron would have been the tallest wide receiver ever but he could have been one of the greatest ever at the position in his first stint Cavs days.

He doesn't have the toughness for football. Not even close.

AI would have been interesting in the NFL as well.

Lebron would fit right in. Flopping is just a part of sports

Probably won't have to worry about taking a charge from him by about game 40.

Zion always has this wistfulness of expression that suggests basketball is something he feels pressured to do, and he’s trying to be a good guy and live up to that expectation and ideal, but it’s not something he really loves or wants to do. I feel like psychologically he’s still kind of a kid. Reminds me of highwhey tbh. Except Zion apparently has family who are treating him more like an ATM than a son, which I think is adding to his difficulty.

Not every talented player wants to be a famous, dominant star athlete. I hope Z finds whatever path makes him happy. In terms of career prospects I personally tend not to bet on guys who dont clearly want it. Yes the injuries are part of the skepticism, but if he really wanted this life Id see it as likely he puts a decent stretch of dominant, mostly injury-free seasons together at some point.

I just dont sense he wants this right now and I actually worry for where things go for him.

that kind of conditioning is a great sign. If he plays 70+ games he is going to be an MVP candidate and if Ingram can also stay healthy that's a dangerous playoff team. The only guy that can defend Williamson is Giannis.

Yep.

He’s a freak and basketball of course was the career move to make millions but he clearly doesn’t love it like some do. Which is okay.

It’s actually kind of crazy the amount of guys in the league who are that way though. I bet there are way more guys than anyone would even think that treat it as a paycheck like any other profession. People assume that the drive it takes to be a professional basketball player is what sets guys apart but that’s not always the case.

If that's the case, he might just end up like Bennet, just getting contracts based on his potential. I mean, Bennet was out of the NBA he hung around Europe for years after just on that draft pick, failing everywhere. Probably by crooked agents too.
