Apparently they were down 19 in the second half and Halliburton cut it to three a few minutes ago. I’m not watching though. I would but I’m on the grill.

The state of basketball in the United States smh

They will probably win but this has nothing to do with the world catching up, it has to do with the USA falling behind.

It's a combo between the world catching up and the U.S. not even sending their best players.

I haven't been following team USA at all yet. Why isn't Ingram playing?

Funny, for all this talk about how much better today's NBA is when compared to the past, you'd think they'd have an easier time with teams from overseas.

Whenever team USA loses, or win a close game, the rebuttal is always that the world has CAUGHT UP to us. But then we also hear how so far ahead the league is now when compared to the past. So it should all be relative right? Even if the non American teams have improved over their past iterations, so too have our US teams. So the result should stay the same. But it seems we have these issues more and more. Go figure

Ant saves the day.

Clear and away the best player on Team USA. I don't want to ever hear anyone compare LOLmelo to Ant again.

He was a +37 in a 8 point win today and was THE reason why Team USA won.

Yea, and the dudes they are sending are good enough. The other teams have stars, but we have ALL stars. We can even pick non-star specialists. The only reason we lose is by getting out-willed or out coached.

Germany is not sending their best either. Germany doesn't have Kleber.

I quite like this USA team, it has good chemistry and a bunch of likeable players.

I think their only issue is still team defense.

Kleber is an elite defender and 3 point shooter, perfect for FIBA game.

Maybe but bruh … not that big a deal. If you play that card we aren’t sending out best either. Stop it.

There's some nuance here, so bear with me. The fact is the world has gotten better which has probably made the NBA better overall.

I actually do think the USA players have gotten not only worse overall due to a crappy culture with the youth but relative to their competition as well. However, if you sent the absolute best current USA players and they're all at full health, haha funny joke I know, the USA is still winning fairly easily. They just about never send their best any longer.

You all apparently forget the first dream team was only formed because the USA got beaten in 1988 by the Soviets. So the USA's second or third or fourth or fifth or worse stringers have a precedent of not winning it all dating way back.

And not to derail this thread, but wow how insane have the expectations for LeBron's career been? I've seen you all call him "LeBronze" dozens of times because what? He won a bronze medal as a 19 year old NBA ROOKIE? HAHAHA.

He brought some of that on himself with his bullshit tattoo for sure but wow. hahaha.

Crazy. People have been saying he sucks for 20 years.
