What do you imagine a social media worker for the NBA had to do that requires a 14 hour shift? Maybe preparing some images and clips for later and waiting for game to finish so they can get fresh ones up before they go to bed? If he was making 50K after taxes he’s making maybe 65 to 70,000 a year depending on the state. And not getting health insurance on day one isn’t exactly shocking. Good places to work offer it these days but it’s not a given.
he sounds a bit soft. And that isnt my “Nobody wants to work these days” inner old man complaining about this generation. Now that I’m largely out of the workforce, I don’t care if you ever go to work. **** over your boss as much as possible without actually stealing. It’s a negotiation. Get everything he can get without having to close the doors. None of my business. But I can’t imagine being a guy on nba social media is that terrible.
Thats almost a job an intern would do for free I feel like. I’m probably lacking key information. I need more details.

What is the cost of living in (I guess) NY? 50k net would be pretty decent here for feeding some online account. 14h shifts wouldn't be possible. Social security/health insurance for anyone from day one on any job above a certain net income treshold.

At first, I was assuming he might have to work in the league office, which is in New York but even the most ardent back to the office employer should be fine with the social media team working remotely, right?
if he does have to live or commute to New York, I can see how 50 after taxes wouldn’t do it.

Probably a plant to make the job look undesirable so theres less PR drama when the NBA fills it with an AI.
