From an optics point of view Vivek is the man. His agenda is probably to sell his next book, but with how he handles adversity he seems most likely to inherit Trumps fan base in the future. Unfortunately having the best answers doesn't matter in politics anymore, it's all about how you're presented to the particular masses

Haley did wreck him on the subject of foreign policy but the winner of that debate is the candidate that makes the strongest case for being VP. With Trump leading the party away from what used to be moderate positions Rameswamy appears to be the guy that Republicans are enthusiastic about and that's what matters with their strategy seeming to be to just turn out their base in record numbers. Now I don't think that will work but by taking the role of Trump surrogate and being the target of everyone he is the winner, the guy that got the most applause and the man the crowd seems to have liked the best. Hadley making the best arguments doesn't really matter because this debate isn't about a score card or whatever it's about perception and popularity.

Which reminds me: Ron DeSantis can go home now.

I am not convinced that Trump will be the guy, and Haley called him out knowing that conservatives are divided on Trump. She isn't going for VP, she's going all in. Midterms were eye opening, almost all of Trump's people lost. Conservatives are done hearing about voter conspiracies, look at Kari Lake she turned herself into a complete joke.

It's kind of sad because Haley would probably destroy Biden, but if Trump is the guy, I think Biden gets 4 more years. No ones views have changed on Trump since 2020. In fact now that is 4 more years of legal younger voters that have entered the mix while older generation died off.

In a way I hope you're right because it would be a sign that our society has advanced but I don't believe for one second that the republican party is going to nominate a non white male. Haley also isn't Trumpy enough for the core of the republican party. Really no one is but Trump, supporting him is the most important issue to his supporters which is why almost none of the other candidates attack him no matter how many times he gets indicted. Most of them know they can't beat Trump and are just trying to get VP or a spot in the cabinet. The only thing that will keep Trump from nomination is if he is found guilty of something before the nomination process is over. And even then he is still the favorite.

Vivek was the standout by far. He's knowledgeable about a wide range of topics, can articulate himself and defend his positions extremely well, and he's chock full of energy and charisma. Plus it's hard to call him racist because he's a brown immigrant with a foreign last name.
