Cricket is one of the most popular sports in the world, yet I don't know anyone that actually understands the rules of it.

I'm not knocking cricket. Not insulting it. But does anyone here understand the rules and how that game works? And if so, do you like it?

It seems like a beloved game in much of the world. I wonder why it hasn't made its way to the states in meaningful fashion

What's there to understand? It's like baseball except there's only 1 base aside from home plate and there's always a runner on base. But unlike baseball the hitter keeps hitting until he gets out. I will admit I probably understand it the least out of the major team sports but I also think it's the easiest to understand out of them.

And a match can go for days too since how the hell you gonna hit the sticks when the batter stands right in front of it.

I believe Indian Premier League fixes it somehow by setting its own rules.

Indians are crazy about cricket. The Indian Premier League (IPL) players get paid crazy amounts. It's a short season but I believe they make the most out of all athletes in the world relative to workload.
