the nba really needs to invest in higher fidelity streaming. whether they force the streaming partners or do it on a standalone app, this shit is ridiculous and makes for a poor viewing experience. it's 2023 and the quality of the broadcasts is the same as 30 years ago.

Can't quite remember but didn't he suck in the last few games against the nuggets?

Pretty good, not as good as 30.0 points on 58.3 fg %, 13.5 rebounds, 9.5 assists and 1.4 steals, but not bad.

He played amazing in that series until he had that foot/ankle tweak. His shooting even started off insane at the beginning of that game 5, he was already 4 of 5 shooting from the floor and 4/4 from the FT line. But immediately after that tweak he was looking human pretty much for the first time all playoffs, and he was struggling the rest of game 5 finishing 8 of 19 FG, and struggled all of game 6 too.

Although in game 6 I think it wasn't just the ankle tweak. He looked frustrated and ready to be done before the first half was over. He looked like he was furious on the inside at Monty Williams. But I think tensions were at an all time high when Monty left Booker in to die with the most random ass 4 scrub lineup on the court who never played together and had 0 chemistry. And the Nugs responded by simply triple teamed Book and made it even harder on him when he was already struggling to find his rhythm again with that ankle tweak.

Monty literally let the Nuggets go on a 20-0 run with that goofy ass lineup before finally calling a timeout, even though it was the first half and Monty had all of his timeouts available. There was 0 reason not to use one to stop the bleeding and get that terrible lineup out of there.

Personally I, and probably a lot of the fanbase, were already sick and tired of Monty's poor playoff coaching even in prior postseasons, but after that 20-0 run happened I knew he had to get fired. It was inexcusable. There was no reason to let the Nugs run to grow to even 10-0 without calling a timeout. 20-0 is just egregious. I get that CP3 and Ayton were out with injury but still leaving that lineup in like that and waiting so long to use a timeout felt like sabotage.

And I believe the whole team was already getting sick of his lack of making adjustments. It was leaked that Monty refused to play TJ Warren and Terrance Ross, even though the bench players he was choosing to play were contributing absolutely nothing. Monty only finally let them play once the assistant coach argued with him enough.

Dude is a great coach for turning team chemistry around and winning a lot of regular season games, but he's just awful when it comes to playoff coaching. Way too stubborn. Doesn't know the definition of the word "adjustment". Unbelievably poor use of timeouts and challenges. etc
