Basics can be highlights too:

I just hope Jokic thinking first to get it back after receiving it and the way it lets people play off him seeps into a few more teams and influences the next generation a little like Steph does with the shooting.

If enough big kids see fans appreciate the give and go and handoffs like Jokic and Sabonis(original and new) specialized in maybe we have brighter days coming.

Probably not though.

Can't see things changing. Jokic has a different mentality which has became rarer if anything. I can't imagine even thinking the way someone like The Bum approaches the game. Jokic, Stockton, Garnett, Webber, Sabonis I get

I’m not sure the difference is mentality as much as an intended play style teams want.

Your own nature is of course a factor but a lot of these guys seem to be supported in the way they play.

When I watch Luka dribble dribble dribble it’s a little cringy but no doubt effective. I’ve read the team wants him to dominate the ball. The Rockets wanted Harden to play how he played. How much of the apparent selfish play we see is the gameplan as teams will intentionally play ugly because it’s effective points per possession wise?

Give -> cut -> pass -> layup.

That's your bread and butter if you're a quick, but not athletic guard. That and the floppy screen (from baseline) to open 3. That righty there and you have your basic 2 guard game down, then add running like a devil on fastbreaks and you'll be popular on any team.

Don't like the first example, dude should have finished instead of passing.

I’ve noticed that when Steph does a give and go they call it a “relocate” for some reason.

If the rebrand inspires some kids to pass and “relocate” im all for it but it’s just a weird thing to rename to me. Maybe acting like it’s a new “move” will get some attention from people who watch YouTube training videos to learn tactics and moves.
