I don’t know how this will work to be honest. Seems pretty sketchy.

How many PFs are there that bang hard in the paint? The Kenneth Faried/Kris Humphries/JJ Hickson types are nonexistent these days. Most 4s are just wings in today's league. Still, it's going to be an interesting concept.

There will definitely be some teams that'll create serious mismatch issues. Minnesota, Denver, LA, NY, etc. Aaron Gordon would eat Klay Thompson alive if he tried to guard him.

Lmao. Cant wait til LAL slides LePostGame to the four and dominates the Dubs’ little small-balls lineup.

He couldn’t dominate JJ Barea in the post, let’s not get delusions of grandeur here.

If they take advantage off it. I've seen teams pass up open layups for contested 3's.

They must have really hated Poole because this is pointless. Chris Paul can't handle a starting player's work load and stay healthy. He's going to be a part time player going in and out of the starting line up and at the price of creating their own mismatch. They won't be able to handle big teams and won't get any rebounds. It's Paul really worth creating all of these built in flaws? He's not a superstar player anymore, he should be averaging 20 minutes resting on back to backs getting load managed all season in the hope that he can be healthy enough to lay for a postseason run. Instead he will likely be guarding the toughest guard while Thompson, Green, and (frequently) Curry will be takes with guarding ng a bigger player with no shot blocking behind them. Was never a fan of this year on paper and the way Paul is being used this is going to fail.

said they're playing him 5 minutes at a time. Just because he's starting doesn't mean he has to play big minutes. You want him in at the end of games

They're trying to run 4-out offense with 4 shooters and 1 big man. You need a big big man that puts pressure at the rim like Ayton or Gobert.

He's a bit too stiff and cumbersome for that role.

Dynasty is over and this was obvious last season. There's so many issues filled that it's hard to pick them all. Klay guarding PF likely means more CP3 starting lineups, because once again, Kerr is better at being a massive ass kisser than an actual coach. This guy doesn't have the balls to speak to his players honestly (the ones with years on their resume, he does it to the young guys).

CP3 should be used like JP last season, that's it. He shouldn't be in consideration as a starter or to finish games, but hey, ego and pride is more important than fit and playing for the team. I'm sure Kerr is having wet dreams to overplay his overtly used retarded 3 guard lineup next year. Even though it's been a failure of epic proportions, this dude can't help himself.

No, Kerr has shown that he will do dumb shit and let it burn an entire season. It's more important to him that he doesn't have a single tough discussion with any of his players, it's better to kiss their ass in the hopes that they magically know the right thing to do like Steph.

Doesn't matter. They're still likely to make it into the play-ins or playoffs anyway.

As much as we talk about players at their "peak" and then in their decline, this concept also applies to coaches.

Coach Steve Kerr said on Tuesday that not only would Paul start

Chris Paul at 38 is coming off a season where his FG% was the lowest in the last 16 years (except one year). He has never scored less points per game than last year at under 14/game. You can see a steady decline from about 5 years ago from 20/game to under 14 now.

There is no reason for Paul to start except to satisfy his ego and because Kerr is infatuated with high IQ players with good fundamentals like Iguodala and Looney.

Kerr's problem here is winning spoils you as a coach- you believe even your bad habits are responsible for your team's championships.

Klay would guard the four man,” Kerr said, via The Athletic’s Anthony Slater while discussing lineups that would include Paul, Steph Curry and Thompson all on the floor together. “He’s so physically strong. He’s so used to guarding post-up players after switches.

Was Kerr replaced by an AI robot. He's talking as though this is the first time he's seen Klay play. As a long time GSW fan, I've seen enough games to know that Thompson is a) stronger than most guards and small forwards and they cannot move him, and b) power-forwards can knock Klay out of the way.

After his injury, Klay even dodged a matchup with Luka at 230 lbs (probably a bit higher). Julius Randle, Zion, whomever will move Klay out of the way. This is obvious to anyone who's watched Warriors game. Just because Klay is strong for his position and strong for his size doesn't mean physics don't apply.

We also see Kerr's unhealthy obsession with small ball. In a league where the last 5 MVPs were won by big men, Kerr is stuck in yesteryear. A line up of Steph, Chris Paul, Klay, Wiggins and Draymond- where the tallest player is 6'7" is not going to grab rebounds or stop teams with physical offensive players.

The front office is no better. Having over a year to find a big, all they get is Dario Saric who's listed at 225 lbs. The new GM Mike Dunleavy Jr gets Chris Paul for Jordan Poole, not exactly inspiring confidence in his trademaking abilities.

Kerr and the front-office were not the reasons the Warriors have been winning rings but they will be the reason they won't be competitive at this point. If those two simply did their job and not hinder the team from succeeding, this team has what it takes to win.

Wiggins is similar to Klay in that he's strong but not that strong. He got muscled around by Sabonis and same thing will happen with similar bigs. It's hard to give up 30 lbs+ in muscle to other players.
