View Full Version : Waffles just aren't as good as they used to be

I bought a box of waffles the other day from a very popular brand, I put a couple of slices in the toaster, and then was disappointed with how they just kind of fold over and taste like cardboard. I remember the very fluffy and tasty waffles from the 80's that were delicious. What has happened to the waffle industry? I suppose you can say that making your own waffles would be better than buying frozen waffles, but who has time to make waffles from scratch in the morning? Those movies and TV shows where you see the family eating breakfast in the kitchen and talking about their day before going to work and school just isn't realistic. No family has time for that. So we are left with eating cardboard waffles.

Anyway, just thought I'd share. Love you guys.

I eat the Kodiak ones every so often because that's what we prefer to give my son on occasion. I think they're pretty good and relatively healthier.

ain't no box of waffles haha. You use a waffle maker. Waffles are still OP. Eggo fluffy ones are OK tho. The secret is to turn it on low and flip them a lot (assuming you are toasting.)

But yeah, REAL WAFFLES like belgian waffles in the waffle maker are superb.

Wow I haven't had frozen waffles in forever. Still go to Waffle House probably 2-3 times a year and always order one there though. They still hit.

This is not that expensive and it makes hot, fresh and crispy waffle. Good investment for Chewie if you ask me.

Ye thick n fluffy iirc but ur wife making the batter wrong if shes not making a browner more vanilla waffle home made. The eggo ones are legit ok tho but its true not much nutritional value (tho p sure they fortified) and the thick n fluffy ones are like 350 cal each haha but they work. One thing i learned in life is sometimes the body just needs some empty calories. Forreal. Im sure someone will say im crazy.
