Antawn was a weird unorthodox dude... a true PF that could score anywhere

more of a 3 wasn't he?

Yeah, that struck me as odd. Karl Malone is a true power forward. Antawn Jamison might be the epitome of a tweener. At least for his time. He would be a pure 4 today but in his time? Him, Juwan Howard, Lamar Odom, and a few others would just be somewhere in the middle of your lineup.

Who would you rather have: Antawn Jamison or Rashard Lewis

EDIT: Antawn was 7th in points scored from 2000-2001 to 2009-2010

Im unsure but I am sure I’d like to say the name Danny Manning now that we are down this path

He and Antawn had a lot of the same “Wtf was that?” little flip shots near the rim.

He's the only guy to score 20K+ points and not be in the HOF
EDIT: Tom Chambers and Clifford Robinson I think as well.

Danny is in the big three of supposed to be somebody forwards from the early 90s with Larry Johnson and Derrick Coleman. I’m not sure who peaked higher but none of them could get it together for long before injuries and asshole his behavior.
Coleman may be the only “true” four mentioned so far though all of them would be modern4s.

He’s not the only guy in the title of this topic with 20,000 points and not in the Hall of Fame unless my memory is failing me

Jamison only dribbled more than once if at all on a couple of these plays.

He had a game in college that was pretty famous at the time when he scored some crazy number of points and he might’ve dribbled once. I’ll see if I can find it.

He had 5 dribbles for 35 points this game and I don’t even think it’s the one I remember

Something to be said for great positioning and decisiveness.

I'm fairly sure I remember Manning being listed as F-C at one point.

That's crazy he scored more than garnett and ray Allen since their primes overlapped. Almost as much as Duncan too. Didn't expect that.

He was a fantastic play finisher. As a current comparison I would clock him as a more skilled but less athletic John Collins. The overall DNA is similar between them I think. NEVER ask either to put the ball on the floor and create for anyone but hand it off and they can finish on all 3 levels.
I also didn't know Chambers scored 60. That was cool to watch.

Jamison was more of a 3 in a PF body. When he got older and less quick , he became more of his position as a 4.
Chambers was not agile , but he was smart. (both players were)
But my point about Chambers was that he was more of a thinking player and you could see it when he played. (Not by instinct)

what happens with a Redd/Johnson, Hill, Jamisons trio

To answer seriously for some reason, probably 46-48 wins and a first round loss. Maybe they get fortunate in a matchup and win round 1 but then get whomped in the ECSF.

If the Hill is Grant Hill? Redd or Joe Johnson plus Jamison supporting is more than 46-48 wins.

Well going off of the pattern I didn't suspect Grant Hill since he was earlier and the other 3 played and pretty much peaked at the exact same time. I just thought he was talking about Solomon or some shit.
