….media.
The “first player to bust your ass” opening is one of the only sure things in media.

Old ones, but I open up the list of shows every month or two and listen to all the new ones. I’ve never even listened to a full show. I only need the first couple minutes. Two of the recent ones were both about Jamal Mashburn. Caron butler got torched and Hedo Turkoglu was so helpless he admitted he went to the locker room and cried, and one of the assistants had to come console him. He just couldn’t do anything with mash and knew he let the whole team down because they had to change the whole Defense to help him.
Those are the kinds of insights worth a listen for me. If they make 1000 episodes, I will listen to the first couple minutes of every one of them. Id love a yearly compilation I could just pull up at the end of every year and get them all at once on a road trip or something.

I’ve seen it 10 times, but I still smile every time Baron Davis tells the story about John Stockton making him internally question if he even knew how to play basketball.

All nba player. I was under impression that proved something to you.

Totally agree. I love it when you get unsuspecting names, it gives you a more clear picture that all these guys are quality players in their own right and that’s why they’re professionals. When it’s not your stereotypical, perennial All-Star, all NBA, and future Hall of Fame player, it’s more interesting

Baron used to frustrate me. So much talent but his actual production was underwhelming. I don't know for sure but i got the impression that his work habits weren't good.

Anyone hating on Baron Davis doesn’t know what they’re talking about. And it’s the usual suspects. He is a name that may get lost to the sands of time, but during his era, when healthy, total monster. Just ask fraudulent 2007 MVP Dirk Nowitzki. Guy took an eighth seed and beat a 60+ win one seed with the “MVP”

Still remember the Brandon Jennings 55-point game. Didn't remember it was against Golden State!

Didn’t realize he made Steph fall so bad. Funny because he was under armour‘s first player for their basketball line, and Steph Curry is basically been the one holding it down as their franchise athlete.
Thanks for posting this Blaze

if you’re a basketball junkie, you really can just turn this shit on and play the whole thing. I might let it play later while I make dinner.

I think Sam Cassell was more than one persons pick. Nick Van Exel was Kobe’s but he made sure to point out he figured him out quickly.

Goes to show how many great players there have been that people don't care about or forgot. Feels like fantasy football where a random nobody can outscore Derrick Henry or Adrian Peterson in any given week.

His prime RAPM was super elite for what it's worth. I don't think he ever played on a great team.

One thing I hate for Baron is that they won 48 games the year after they upset the males but still didn’t make the playoffs. They would’ve had HomeCourt in the east.

I could see Andre Miller popping up sometime soon.

hard to be a great team when the guy taking most of the shots is missing most of them

Where are you getting this, he was a natural big body. He was barrel chested.
He didn’t become overweight, like most athletes, until after they retire. Where they continue to consume calories, like they had previously, without burning it off with the high intensity cardio of basketball. It even happened to Kobe Bryant. And definitely happened to Michael Jordan after 1999, had to lose 30 damn pounds before he came back on the Wizards. And was still like 10 pounds heavier than his max weight in Chicago.
Listen, just talk about Rudy Gobert, you literally don’t know **** all about anything else basketball wise.
It’s more than apparent when you talk shit but literally have Baron Davis’s peers, telling you on a podcast how bad of a boy he was, and you’re here on a keyboard, glorifying and overrating Rudy Gobert exclusively, and saying they don’t know what they’re talking about.

I mean... who did he ever play with? Jamal Mashburn? Stephen Jackson? Those guys were inefficient too and I guarantee you'd hate on them. Who should he be passing the ball to? Elden Campbell on some chicken noodle soup shit?

Nah bro, 13 ppg on 65% at 7 foot 1 is so much better. Why don’t people rely on him more for volume scoring :facepalm

an open shot by an NBA player is better than a prayer against a triple team

Man Jennings, Kaman, McCloud...been some time since I've heard those names but they definitely all had those little spurty performances where they looked like allstars. Then they would be completely pedestrian the next :oldlol:
