Best organizer for your apartment or house?

Might be smart to buy a home organizer, not sure if that's the right term, but where's the best place to put your keys, wallet, etc. at home?

On a coffee table near the door? In some sort of organizer?

Tired of sometimes misplacing these key items

I use the same system my Dad used before he passed away. I have a bowl that was given to him on his wedding day by his favorite teacher. It sits on a shelf just inside the door that leads to the garage. I walk in and empty my pockets into the bowl. Wallet, keys, comb, loose change, garage door opener, receipts if I think I want to keep them. When it's time to leave the house... well, not getting very far without those car keys. And that helps make sure I pick up all the other stuff that we just can't get along without these days.
