Sports talk is about controversy not good information. He is trying to generate a buzz. If he says Doncic is better than Irving you wouldn't be making this topic.

Real basketball fans know that a lot of former NBA players' takes suck
Kyrie might be more skilled than Luka, but Luka is undoubtedly the better player

Kenyon Martin also thinks Kobe is better than LeBron, its not exactly surprising.

More basketball racism from the bruvas. To be expected. They’re equally racist and tribalistic. Anyone asserting Luka not only isn’t the best player on the Mavericks, but one of the top 3 - 5 players in the league, then you’re living in a delusion

Should, sure. Sometimes it doesn’t happen.

They made the conference finals the previous year taking out the top seed. Then mgt let their 2nd best player walk for nothing, among other mistakes.

Last year? Injured, roster re construction, and they had more than 5 games down the stretch that could’ve easily been wins given the point differential. Kareem is considered by many 2nd or 3rd best player ever and his missed the playoffs while winning MVP. You consistently don’t know what you’re talking about, as usual. He made it to the conference finals just a couple years ago and gave the champion Warriors a better fight than Tatum and Brown

I'm going to have to agree with Xiao here. Luka is looking like he's a whole lotta empty stats. He does have the clutch in him, but has had a bunch of solid teammates during his years on the Mavs, and he really hasn't meshed well with any of them.

What have you done for me lately? Questions need to be raised when you don't even finish in the top 10 in your conference especially when you're being touted as top 3-5 player in the league.

How could you possibly reach this conclusion? The Warriors went up 3-0 on the Mavs, winning every game decisively, while the Celtics were up 2-1 and had a 4th quarter lead in Game 4.

Good thing you weren't a fan in the 70's otherwise Kareem would be out of top 5 contention missing the playoffs b2b years.

Porzingas and Brunson both were better without him

6 teams made it not 10. Maybe 1 guy couldn't carry a team? 1 guy certainly can today especially if he's supposed to be top 3-5 in the league

Why does Luka get a pass? We don't want to have to listen to him whine about it? Ever since Kidd and his 4-17 from the field triple doubles I've never taken them too seriously myself

Saw this the other day but the board went down before I could post.
CORRECTION: Since the ABA/NBA merger, Larry Bird, George Gervin and Tim Duncan earned four or more All-NBA first teams in their first five seasons as well.
Abdul-Jabbar made four of his first 5 seasons too.
Chamberlain made 7 First Teams in his first 9 seasons.
Duncan made 8 straight First Team All-NBA in his first 8 seasons.
:biggums:
Jordan made 10 of 14 years (made the second team in his rookie season, and missed almost the entire season in his second year).

Not exactly the case. Brunson was the same guy with the Mavs, his role just expanded in NYK. They went to a conference finals together in Dallas. And Luka was like, what, 22 at the time.
KP definitely plays better in a free flowing ball movement offense than a slow ground n pound, so he's not ideal next to Doncic. They still gave the heavy favorite Clippers all they could handle in the playoffs twice tho. The Mavericks definitely never under performed relative to their roster except for last year.

In the playoffs, Kyrie is leading the team with a monstrous +26.0 on/off net rating and a second-best +9.3 on-court rating. Luka, in comparison, has a +7.8 on/off and a +6.0 on-court. Derrick Lively leads the team in on-court rating: +17.7.

Losing Lively really hurts their chances against Boston. He’s been the x-factor for sure.
I don’t think they get by OKC without him.

I don’t think they get by OKC without him.he’s officially a GTD, but I think they should let him sit, and fully heal. I think Gafford can do his thing, and Powell still runs the floor well and sets a good gortat screen. Powell will very likely get dunked on by Ant tho. And Reid.
