LeBron James is entering his 21st NBA season, and while no one quite knows what to expect from him beyond the immediate future, his legacy is very much intact.

He has won four world championships and four regular season MVPs. He tied Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most All-Star game selections last season with 19. Of course, he also surpassed the legendary Los Angeles Lakers center in a more important category last season: most career points in league history.

Where James belongs on the list of the greatest to ever play basketball is up for debate. A growing number of people believe he’s the greatest ever, and that includes Giannis Antetokounmpo, who has assembled a very impressive resume himself at age 28

How is 4 rings, 2 of which came from bailouts from teammates, and 1 in the bubble, over 21 years that stellar of a resume? 6 finals losses including 2 sweeps and 2 gentleman's sweeps? Only lead the league in a category 2x in his career; 1 scoring and 1 in assists. This is your resume?

I'd argue KAJ's "resume' in the NBA is far superior - 6/10 in the Finals, 6x league MVPs.

You cannot have a dude with a losing finals record have the best resume in the NBA. Jordan is the GOAT, it's not close, you know it and I know it. It is what it is.

Lebron wouldn't still be trying this hard and still playing if he thought he'd done enough to get close to Mike. Also, if you don't think Lebron would trade 5k points for 2 more rings, wipe away all his finals losses, add 9 more scoring titles, more defensive all-team selections, DPOY etc you're crazy.

Fun fact: Jordan played 13.5 years in the league total. Lebron has 20 under hit belt. Mike at his size STILL to this day has more TOTAL offensive rebounds than a 6'9 big athletic player that played an additional 6.5 years.

Lastly, Lebron is 0-8 in Finals game tying or winning shots. Never scored in a close Finals game with the score on the line, ever.

Jordan, career 3pt = 32.7. LBJ, career, 34.5. LBJ has played in a league that emphasized the 3 pointer and has taken several times the # of 3 pointers.
Had it been an emphasis in 1986 Mike would have gotten better at them - I sure remember him setting the record for 3's in the first half of the 1992 finals. Don't recall James ever doing that on the biggest stage.

Mike adapted his game to the team game and made his team better. Lebron has somewhat DEVOLVED since around 2013. Takes hard work to get your shots up in practice and play defense (or even cross half court) in game. When you've been coddled and told you're the greatest from age 15, it's not surprising. LBJ just took shortcuts (team hopping, superteams, steroids, etc.)

Still though from a pure basketball perspective, the leading turnover leader still hasn't passed MJ in total offensive rebounds and he's fukking 6'10" and played 6.5 years longer. That's all effort.
