He could still do stuff like this (The reverse is in fact from that last year and he did make the layup)
The biggest freak in NBA history (literally and figuratively)

No hate but if he had a real off court work ethic he would have been the greatest ever.

Yup. Everyone says that. He really could've been if he stayed in shape.

Weird to me seeing people who don’t remember those days saying no way he was that big. He was 289 at LSU and 303 pounds as a rookie:

Oh his giant broad ass near 7’2” frame?
This is comfortably 80+ more pounds

Guys that wide at his height can be heavy and not even look fat. Like Wilt who was 320ish looking like a god. You get a drop of fat on those naturally big frames of those guys built like normal humans at that size not the usual stick figure basketball build?
400 is easily believable. People who only see Shaq on TV don’t realize how much he dwarfs other basketball players. Even early in his career Shaq doesn’t just look tall. Shaq looks big. Even NBA players you think are musclebound you see them in person it’s just muscles on a stick. They are surprisingly slender. Not Shaq. Shaq looks like a normal athletic football playing type. Just blown up to NBA size. He obviously carries a lot of weight.
Sabonis(sr) was like that if you ever saw him. It’s like the difference between Andre the Giant and Kevin Durant. They might be a similar height(Andre maybe an inch or two taller before he shrank) but even young skinny Andre had 150 pounds on him. Just built solid.
Shaq is solid. He blocks out the sun. He’s not the tallest person I’ve ever seen but he’s probably the biggest.
Yao now that he’s put on weight is like that too. Yao is on some Goliath shit. Not all basketball players are built like basketball players.

Had to check in European unit to see how ridiculous this is.
It says 180 kg. There is no way he was 180+ kg. Impossible. The insane gravity alone would tire him out within 10 min.

agree...... he might be now, but not back then.
he is just trying to justify his current weight

If he was 300+ lbs as a rookie looking relatively thin it's not far fetched to think he'd be 400 when looking like a 7 foot tall, bald headed Barry Bonds.
I'm 210 right now and people say I look skinny. Durant is 230 or 240 and looks like a tooth pick. Height exponentiates weight to the point Shaq would have to weigh 600 lbs to truly look fat.

Wtf are you talking about Shaq is in much better shape now than he was then.

Shaq was 290 literally jumping over defenders for putback dunks landing on the other side in college looking thin as hell. 100 pounds from 20-30 eating and putting on muscle on his frame isn’t hard to believe.
You really think the difference in the two pics above is like 25 pounds as reported?
He was obviously way over that.

I think 400 pounds might be a tad much but 360-370 lbs is pretty much a given for 02 Shaq. Could be a bit higher too.

People don't understand what a big frame looks like. A proportionally robust skeletal structure allows you to look skinnier at any given weight as well as attain a heavier weight in less rotund fashion. Andre The Gant was only 6'9" to 6'10" and 309 pounds as a teenager looking skinny as hell in this picture/footage:

That being said, I wouldn't put it past Shaq to exaggerate. The media reports at the time had him at like 360-370 I think. He's previously stated he was like 390-395 in 2002. Shaq was a big guy but not anywhere near as robust as Andre The Giant or Calvin Lane. There are comfortably larger humans, but they just can't move like him.

Charles Barkley was 302 pounds after a big dennys meal before his predraft workout. Go look at rookie Barkley. He was nba fat not regular guy fat. He was muscular with some fat. Shaq was 7-8 inches taller and looked as “fat” as rookie Barkley by 02 and 03. Why are people struggling with this?

That picture exaggerates Lane's size. A huge human to be sure but he looks like a cartoon character because of the clothing.

You are correct though that the difference between Shaq and all these other giants is the way he moves.
Look at this old interview with Lane (I heard he's passed now): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPtHM1vgOYw
He needs a cane and he couldn't have been much older if at all than Shaq is now.
He's proportioned and moves like a man 6 inches to a foot shorter. He doesn't have acromegaly like Andre. He's just naturally enormous which is why he can move the way he does.
Even Wilt looks positively uncoordinated in comparison.
He's got to be the most impressive physical marvel at or above 7 foot. Look at his fist next to Wilder's:
