Played 8 minutes. Had he not been fouled on that dunk attempt... could've got the ball more.

The most interesting thing is how much the other team has to change their gameplan. It's a constant danger Victor blocks it.

Spurs need to trade one of the chuckers for a point guard.

Already has 3 blocks in 11 minutes played. He has a chance to be the most impactful defensive force since Bill Russell. Five games into the season, the Spurs defensive rating is 26.8 points better with Victor on the floor.

Victor Wembanyama ON-COURT: 105.6 defensive rating
Victor Wembanyama OFF-COURT: 132.4 defensive rating

-26.8 on/off defensive rating

I really think you could have a 2004 Detroit/2008 Boston type of defense if you give him some solid defensive talent. He's playing with a team that was the worst defense in the league last season.

2008 Celtics Regular Season -8.6 rDRtg
2004 Pistons Regular Season -7.5 rDRtg

This Spurs team is interesting to watch, especially because there are virtually no big names on it. They take less 3 pointers, pass more and run more. It's Pop. Orlando, OKC and the Nuggets are interesting too. Sometimes GSW and the Kings.

Victor had like 4-5 passes that should've been assists but his teammates just missed fairly easy shots.

Victor plays the right way. Once the Spurs put a core of players around him that play the same way, it will be fun to watch. Too many players on this Spurs team that just have "me" on their minds when playing BBall.

The Spurs played very well until they didn't.

Someone needs to gif that last possession where Wemby was locking Schroder up on the perimeter. That was incredible agility and defensive competitiveness right there. Someone his size shouldn't be able to move that way.

Shroader has one of the quickest first steps in the league too.

He's 19 and he still put up a crazy statline for a rookie, does he have to be perfect?

Spurs were up 20 in 2nd half. Then got outscored 52-30 in the 4th and OT combined FTL. That's a clear example of choking.

The Spurs are predicted to win 20 some games this year. Blowing leads will be pretty normal for this squad.

Can he save the spurs from having a huge deficit nearing 40?
