russ plays well with George and kawhi. You don’t want him leading an all bench unit. Lue had harden doing that the first game. It should be fine on paper but their bench won’t defend anyone

A lot of people are saying bench Russ. I think Harden should come off the bench, mostly for Russ. Paul George seems like he’s the only one of the big three who is even slightly compatible with Harden.

Worse, all of these guys are gone in a couple of years, and the Clippers don’t have a number one pick until 2030??? If I were a fan, I might be longing for the glory days of the Sterling years.

Anyone with a modicum of insight knew this was going to be rough. Not only are Harden and Westbrook on-ball centric players who are mostly ineffective without the ball, but both still think they're stars and the only way this works is for one to scale back ( not likely) or change their game to accommodate the other ( even less likely). Kawhi and PG13 also handle the ball a good bit so......its not a good mix.

Unless Harden seriously shifts his approach, it wouldn't surprise me if nobody signs him next year unless he takes a DEEP paycut. Nobody in their right mind should be throwing big money in 2024 at a 35 year old Harden with the last 3 years of history and what we've seen so far. He's aging in the same way Melo and A.I did, failing to accept what they were as they aged and then nobody wanted them.

They were great yesterday. At one point, they were 12-20 from three. If they could keep that up, they would win a lot of games. After that, down the stretch, Denver’s D clamped down and they went 1-9 from three. At the other end, Joker had no problems getting Zubac in foul trouble, and then he simply owned them in the post. Same is going to happen against any team with a decent big. Even if they hit their stride, the roster simply isn’t balanced enough to make a deep playoff run (assuming their lack of chemistry doesn’t completely undercut them beforehand.)

Kawhi himself needs to step it up offensively tbh, but it's early in the season & it looks like they're trying to manage his load within these games. Hasn't put up more than 26 points since the Lakers game at the beginning of November. Team is fairly stacked offensively where he doesn't need to do it all the time but he's looked mediocre even with the limited amount of shots he's taken recently.

Too early to be looking into the ORTG/DRTG numbers with this sample size but defensively they've been close to elite through 15 games, it's the offense that's been the issue. Obviously they just made the adjustment with Russ going to the bench, but you'd think an offense led by Harden with Kawhi & PG on the wings with a solid bench would be at least top 10 in the league. So far they've struggled in the Harden minutes for the most part, but I think they'll figure it out if they can stay healthy.
