Extremely late call where foul awarded to Jokic AFTER the shot missed and GSW rebounds.

Could be. Both teams playing at a high level this season.
Moody with a 3 point shot and ties the game 70-70.

What's the deal with the Jamal Murray injury?

This sort of feels like a warm up for both teams today. Like neither one is playing at their best. Which is fine it's still a fun game

The Warriors lack of a backup center (Jackson-Davis) is showing; Jokic dominating GSW's backup center.
bdonovan
11-09-2023, 12:51 AM
The Warriors have had over a year to find a solid backup center to guard the Embiid's, Jokic's of the world. We are in that type of league. And they don't do it. There are hard things and simple things. This was a simple thing and an oversight by GSW front office and Kerr.

Forgot that DeAndre Jordan is still on the Nuggets. He got decent minutes in 39 games as a backup last season but has barely played so far this year.

It does. A lot of FG misses, Klay missing 3 of 4 FT. Wiggins 2-10. Klay 2-6 from 3. Jokic 1-7 from 3 pt.

Could be because Jokic has played 29 of 35 minutes thus far in the game. He's been out there a lot- more than any other player on both teams.

Chris Paul utterly GARBAGE possession winding down Q3. Wasted time then led the offensive drive when it was too late. Look Chris- you can't beat people off the dribble anymore so start the drive SOONER not when there's 5 seconds left.
Guy drives, can't find anything- can't find a good person to pass to, we get a forced shot after the buzzer. Paul needs to remember he's old now. Start the possession earlier. If you leave 1 second on the clock for the opponent, that's ok- they likely won't make it.

Unacceptable defensive attempt by Kuminga on that Nuggets fast break; just jogging half speed, he needs to run full speed and position himself in front of the ball-handler's drive.

Yeah you will see some mental mistakes from him, esp on defensive end. On the Offensive end, he's trying to do it by himself- not sure about that, but on the road, you sometimes need to do that.

Klay harming team offense. Just standing around. He needs to keep moving and disrupt the defense. Either he needs better conditioning or he needs to figure out how to play team offense again.
this is going to be the conference finals

I'm not sure we want Chris Paul shooting the 3 down the stretch; he missed Klay wide open at the 3 point line earlier. He needs to be smarter and find the better shooter.

Nuggets remain undefeated at home, in no small part due to home cooking. A number of glaring calls throughout the game, Jokic elbows Looney in the face no call, obvious goaltend by Porter which hit the glass, then he swatted (automatic goaltend, but not called), KCP and Reggie Jackson blatant shoving like its the NFL. Of course Jokic can do whatever he wants at home as well.
Warriors missing two best defenders in Green and GP2.
Nonetheless at Denver, game decided by a single possession - 108-105.
The Warriors starting lineup needs to be able to execute plays on the offensive end. Chris Paul hangs on too the ball too long and Klay is not moving off the ball. Klay needs to be setting screens for other shooters, not just begging for the ball. Chris Paul instinctively needs to look for Curry, not be shooting 3's down the stretch. I pointed out a number of defensive lapses by Kuminga; should be benched each time he does that until he learns defense as important as offense.
The Warriors backup team massively outscored the Nuggets backup unit. But still there the lack of a big hurt them as Jokic could score at will.
Will be interesting when it heads back to San Francisco.
So the warriors can't easily win games if the donkey isn't present huh? I just remembered some fools here who thought and said that the team should offload him somewhere else before. :oldlol:

I notice Jokic fouls the shit out of players a lot, and it's rarely called. Either way Steph should be doing better there, his shooting was awful tonight and even his last shot made no sense. Why take a 2 that early? Even if he makes it, it's a tie game with 5-6 seconds left for Nuggets to score. Idiotic time management on top of missing it. :facepalm This was a very frustrating loss.
They better win all their home games now. :facepalm

Haha, certainly true. Don't make me go back over by "Euro Pass" logic again for why such players have it easy in the NBA. Then again, native-born white bigs also get any number of handouts from the refs, who just choose to look the other way when they're physical. Whatever stats they have, to see what their natural range would be, reduce it by 40%.
Steph gambled on the last shot- he knew they would hound him at the 3 point line but I think he should pulled up and shot the 2 versus the off-balance layup. I didn't mind the shot and ultimately over 48 minutes, there's a lot more why they lost than that.
Overall, GSW's chemistry is vastly improved from last year. There is still is a bit missing from CP3-Klay-Curry in terms of chemistry. They each need to be screening for one another. CP3 in particular with his age, thinks he can just rest if he doesn't have the ball. That's not Warriors basketball. He needs to be moving to present as a threat or screening. This isn't losing Clippers or Suns basketball.
Klay is also regressing in team offense- sulking in the corner when the ball isn't passed to him. He needs a wakeup call, maybe Draymond can help with that during a practice game. Worse when they don't pass to Klay after he's been begging for it all possession, then he doesn't play defense half the time, since he's still sulking. (the other half though Klay is still capable of excellent individual D, even keeping Aaron Gordon from scoring when he was under the hoop).
There is a lack of chemistry of people cutting to the basket to the point when Steph is leading the offense, he seems hesistant who to pass to. The other Warriors cannot just sit at the 3 point line waiting for the ball. Many times Nuggets played an improvised zone when Curry drove the ball and he had no one to pass to. This causes forced shots.
What should happen:
* FULL commitment to Team Offense- with all players screening and moving; guards need to screen for each other. They need to watch GP2.
* Klay, Curry and CP3 need to run plays in practice and nail them in the game; they need to play off each other, not one guy with the ball and the others resting and watching
* Get a backup big with some size who can at least try to contest Jokic or Embid. Jackson-Davis was a joke; getting bulled under the hoop and giving up an easy 2.
Kerr also left the backup unit in too long. A little of their success was due to novelty, which wears out after a while and you want your best players on the floor.
Overall it's a great sign for the Warriors. Played at home, without the freebies Denver got, they would have won this game by 10-15 points.

The refs blew the game last night though. Not saying they're rigging it for Denver in general, just that they're incompetent. MPJ jumped on Curry's junk, should have been the most blatant landing zone violation. 2 plays later, clear goaltend for the Warriors not called, then Nuggets get the exact same call 15 seconds later, then Kerr loses his shit getting a T. That's several points swung in the last 3 minutes of the game in a 2 point win. These things happen, it's not conspiracy. Just annoying.
What is up with Wiggins? He has been awful to start the season.
Nobody knows but he looks like garbage. If he's unable to get back to his old level, this team is going nowhere. If we get 22' playoffs Wiggins, then they can contend. One of the writers was stating that Wiggins 2 games ago was breathing hard on the FT line. I don't know how the fock one of the physically in shape players in the league could be out of breath so easily. :facepalm

Wiggins being Wiggins. We all thought that last year with his extended leave and coming back late in the season was the reason for his decline in play and had high expectations for him coming into the year. Unfortunately he’s looked the same. He’s back to T wolves wiggins where he’s aloof and mentally checks out for big portions of the game. He’s not locked in and playing hard. I hate to say it but his season during the Warriors title run is starting to appear as an outlier. Hopefully I’m wrong and Wiggins can wake up but at this point i’m not holding my breath.
