If Gobert wanted to stop the fight, the thing to do is to hold back your own teammate. That's how NBA fights are broken up. Not by putting your hands on the player on the opposing team; which he did. His hands were at the neck level and you can see he puts Klay in a headlock. You can see his right arm around Klay's neck. Draymond responds by putting Gobert in a headlock of his own.
Gobert's headlock lasted less than a second while Draymond's lasted several seconds and is a more dangerous headlock. Given the progression of events, I can understand why Draymond responded how he did to protect his own teammate from being headlocked, but he went too far.

Klay just reaching out on a lazy arms length box out, and son overreacted. Then they danced up the court together.

What a huge shocker. The team now that is not using 40% of its playing time on 4 34-39 year olds guys, doesn't look old and unathletic all of the sudden. Would be nice if the GM and CEO were looking at this and thinking of making moves instead of allowing the OG's to ride into the sunset while making 75% of the team's entire salary. But hey, emotions are more important than facts.

Timberwolves have the size & strength; and they know how to use it. They are doing a number of off-ball moving screens- the same way that Popovich and Spurs used to do, with a big guy pretending to move towards the basket and shouldering the opposing defender on the guy they want to get the ball too.
They're being coached well. If you have an advantage in size, use it. Physicality all day long, wearing the opposition down. Their W-L record attests to how successful that's been.

He won't get the biggest suspension but I'm going to say this is largely McDaniels fault. Thompson gets blame as well, to be honest I'm not sure who really instigated but I think McDaniels went more flagrantly at him. Green misunderstood what Gobert was doing when he went in for the choke. Really unfortunate because with his history be may get hammered. I'm not calling for a huge suspension just it wouldn't surprise me.

Klay was technically the first one who put his hands on Jaden and grabbed his jersey. Jaden was wrong for retaliating. But they were just shoving each other and not throwing punches. I don't think either should have been rejected but since the same treatment happened to both of them.... Whatever, not gonna fret about it. I don't see how either of them get suspended.

While Green was in the wrong for misunderstanding what Gobert was doing he had never shown any sign of being afraid of getting booed. He doesn't mind being the villain at all. He's easily more concerned with beating the Minnesota defense and stopping Edwards than any fear of what the crowd will yell. If the Warriors are winning he will even enjoy it.

Dane Moore: While most of the Rudy Gobert focus tonight will be on the first minute of the game, what Gobert did in the last minute arguably won it. Asked Gobert about what he saw here when Chris Paul got to the midrange before blocking Dario Saric’s shot in the corner. “As I was running back on defense, I saw that I was cross-matched — I was on Saric, Kyle was on Looney. So I knew that as soon as CP saw that, he was going to try to draw me in to kick it out. (https://*********.com/social/) I got ahead of it and just went in the paint to make sure he kicks it out first. Then just try to recover and give Saric the best contest as I could. And yeah, it was a good play by CP, but I saw it coming.”

I'm trying to think of a precedent for washed and angry. It IS pretty funny that he did it to a 7'2 guy though, since nobody got hurt. But still. That should be a lengthy suspension because dude, while generating ratings probably, is making bball look like a joke. Dudes didn't even do stuff like that when the NBA was not soft. That was way too aggressive and he held that way too long. I'd challenge someone to post a more aggressive choke hold in NBA history. LOL. I suspect the Warriors don’t have any goals concerning Minnesota. This is like those teams that had their whole season made when they beat the Jordan Bulls. It’s nice for the fans and if teams still made the promotional season ticket holder VHSs it would get an overly produced sappy section but it doesn’t exactly….matter. Teams that matter and fan bases used to success don’t celebrate anything of this nature.
It’s just a fun little situation to make the next game more exciting. Personally, I’m all for it. But the Warriors are going to ring count you to death in any argument. They have the only thing that matters and they know it.

If your team is concerned about the second part of that they will stay a poverty franchise. Hope they do the cliche but effective “One game at a time” thing and forget it. If your team is concerned about the second part of that they will stay a poverty franchise. Hope they do the cliche but effective “One game at a time” thing and forget it. They’re talented enough to win for real. Ant looks like a type who can turn a team to a playoff winner. Like Jimmy butler with more natural talent.
Jimmy had Towns and Lavine not Gobert and Conley

This is his 4th year lol.
He was already a star last year.
Ant gave Denver all they could handle in the playoffs averaging 31/5/5.
Denver is just an average-ish defensive team and he still only shot +0.5 rTS.
Not saying the guy isn't super talented but he's still only 22... Wolves are currently 1st on defense but 23rd on offense. Let's pump the brakes a bit on him carrying the offense. I hope he does but it's far-fetched given his age and this team.

What does street cred have to do with defending yourself as a man? Lol

2022 GSW won a championship with a dominant defense and a mediocre offense. Well, at least that's how they performed in the regular season. Correct me if I'm wrong but their regular season offense was +0.5 rORtg and their regular season defense was -5.1 rDRtg.

Yeah, it’s a relatively meaningless game. And it’s really weird the way he talks about Rudy Gobert. He literally hates and throws shade at every other basketball player in existence, one’s dramatically better than his favorite player, but glorifies this clown delusionally so. He just compared Larry Bird fighting off two cowards in Dr. J and Charles Barkley at the same time and said the same thing happened last night with Rudy? Rudy literally just let this ape choke him the **** out and didn’t do anything.

Adrian Wojnarowski: ESPN Sources: The NBA is looking further into the Warriors-Timberwolves scuffle, including Draymond Green headlock on Rudy Gobert. Warriors play OKC on Thursday, so review on Green’s part — including video and interviews — expected to be completed for a ruling prior to that game (https://*********.com/social/).
– via Twitter wojespn (https://twitter.com/wojespn)
As Draymond Green applied the choke hold to Rudy Gobert to pull him off of Thompson, the Minnesota Timberwolves center tried to stay calm as everyone around him seemed to be losing their minds. “He’s grabbing me, he’s grabbing me, he’s grabbing me,” Gobert recalled. “(But) the choke wasn’t good enough. Yeah, it wasn’t enough for me to really have to (go to sleep). But he tried. He tried really hard, but it wasn’t good enough to where I felt like I was really in danger of falling asleep or something like that.” (https://theathletic.com/5064856/2023/11/15/rudy-gobert-draymond-green-choke-hold-warriors-timberwolves/)

Green held Gobert for about nine seconds on Tuesday as assistant coaches, security staff and players tried to pry everyone apart and get control of a situation that erupted as the game between the Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors wasn’t even two minutes old. “It was a long time, and if he knew how to choke it could have been way worse,” Gobert said. “He tried to. His intention was to really take me out. And I kept my hands up the whole time just to show the officials that I wasn’t trying to escalate the situation.” (https://theathletic.com/5064856/2023/11/15/rudy-gobert-draymond-green-choke-hold-warriors-timberwolves/)

“There is no way Klay Thompson should have been ejected,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. “That’s ridiculous … as far as the Draymond Green part, Rudy Gobert had his hands on Klay’s neck. That’s why Draymond went after Rudy.” When informed of Kerr’s comments, Gobert chuckled. “What do you want me to say? He’s backing his guy, but I think he knows,” Gobert said. “Deep inside, he (doesn’t) want to say it but his guy is a clown.” (https://theathletic.com/5064856/2023/11/15/rudy-gobert-draymond-green-choke-hold-warriors-timberwolves/)

He threw a 12-6 elbow from behind which is illegal in MMA because doctors told the commisioners that throwing elbows like that could split a person's skull open at the right angle and leave them bleeding to death almost instantaneously.

Green will get suspended though
It made sense why both got suspended after what Dray did. If Dray doesn't turn into a UFC fighter, they likely get 1 tech apiece and it's done.

Maybe, but the offensive level in the game is so high now, not to mention the rules favoring it, it could prove hard to win by shutting teams down four times in a series if you cant score much yourself. Opponents are gonna get chances to make adjustments and figure out ways to get their scorers going. If your team just doesnt have much offensive firepower it could be tough nowadays.
Not saying they cant do it, just the dynamic of offense/defense is different than what it used to be.

You’re really dumb. Like you consistently have the worst basketball takes.
To the point I really don’t understand why you’re even on a basketball message board.
Ultimately was he as good or great as Chris Paul? No, because that beared out in their career. But the point was there was a three year stretch there, where it was arguable between the both of them. I’d say 2007 - 2010 specifically. And actually, there was moments during that time that Deron was playing better in the playoffs than Chris was.
You’re looking at it exclusively in hindsight. Which is disingenuous.
In the moment it was arguable, and Deron had them in the playoffs, playing relatively well, Carlos Boozer totally revealed himself to be a slightly above average power forward. That was actually the best Jazz team since the 90s Malone and Stockton era.

Artest got 7 games for nearly splitting Hardens wig.
https://i.makeagif.com/media/1-19-2016/mTUAH9.gif
He threw a 12-6 elbow from behind which is illegal in MMA because doctors told the commisioners that throwing elbows like that could split a person's skull open at the right angle and leave them bleeding to death almost instantaneously.
He got 7 games.
And you want dray to get 30?
That doesn't add up.
Kinda an exaggerarion but 5-10 forreal. And yea artest haha but that was instigated. Was brutal tho for sure. Also low key funny, the rhythm of chest pound then elbow shed.

Paul played both ends of the court and has been great everywhere. Deron was great playing in Motta's system for Sloan

Not elite but they have to be much better than the level of 23rd in the league.
I have them at 19th against a tough schedule so far. They are only 2 pts per 100 from 11th.
Meanwhile the defensive gap between Minny and the 2nd place team is 5.2 pts per 100.

Pistol never had a winning record. Rating Mitchell over the guy that carried him is a joke. I listed the numbers. Hard to argue against them. Other than AK's 3rd season no one ever made a bad Jazz team good except Gobert. They couldn't even tank properly because he was too good. The statues joined a playoff team. It took them 5 years to put enough talent around AD for them to not suck. Oh yeah I forgot the legendary Boozer as the teams 3rd best PF helped them beat the 8th seed to make the conference finals!

This dude really listed like 5 stats that people lead the league in specifically because they have little ability. Rudy is number one all time in offensive rating and Capela is second. Specifically BECAUSE they can’t do anything but catch the ball and dunk. The whole top 8 in efg% are modern centers who can’t do anything but dunk. Only one skilled player in the top 12. All time leaders Deandre, Rudy, and Capela.
This man listed like 7 versions of “He dunks and stands under the rim” stats and windshear per 48 or he’s ahead of Tim Duncan, Shaq, Hakeem, Steph, Larry Bird…oh…and Bill Russell who may well have invented winning.
That may well be the longest list of nothing stats that obviously prove nothing that has ever been posted, intending to make a serious point.

I listed the numbers. Hard to argue against them.
It is unbelievably easy to argue against the importance of numbers that increase as your skill decreases and your role diminishes as a result.
If Rudy Gobert were better at basketball, his efficiency stats would decline because he would have too much responsibility. That’s why DeAndre Jordan and Clint Capela have better numbers in most of those categories than Larry bird, Hakeem, or Michael Jordan.
your statistical argument hinges on a lack of skill limiting what he is expected to do.
Pull up the extensive formula used to calculate win shares, and you will see efficiency is heavily considered. And his efficiency is entirely based on how bad he is at certain aspects of basketball.
if he could dribble pass and shoot which are fundamental aspects of basketball playing, he would be a better player, but a less efficient one because people who dribble and pass turn the ball over more as a result, and people who can shoot make a lower percentage of their shots than guys who have to be spoonfed every basket by somebody more skilled than they are.
If you make him exactly as good as Olajuwon, 80% of the numbers you posted decline because he would be too ****ing good at basketball to shoot 70% because only bums(and people like wilt choosing not to shoot for his own reasons) can shoot 70% because only people without skills are limited to the kind of shot you should never miss.
knowing these facts and posting that bullshit, as if you’re talking to a bunch of people who have never watched basketball is exactly why a large group of completely unaffiliated people who have nothing else in common and agree on little all think you’re ridiculous.

if he could dribble pass and shoot which are fundamental aspects of basketball playing, he would be a better player, but a less efficient one because people who dribble and pass turn the ball over more as a result, and people who can shoot make a lower percentage of their shots than guys who have to be spoonfed every basket by somebody more skilled than they are.
If you make him exactly as good as Olajuwon, 80% of the numbers you posted decline because he would be too ****ing good at basketball to shoot 70% because only bums(and people like wilt choosing not to shoot for his own reasons) can shoot 70% because only people without skills are limited to the kind of shot you should never miss.
knowing these facts and posting that bullshit, as if you’re talking to a bunch of people who have never watched basketball is exactly why a large group of completely unaffiliated people who have nothing else in common and agree on little all think you’re ridiculous.
doing all those things doesn't necessarily make one a better player. Doing the things to help you team win is more important than being an inefficient gunner that doesn't defend or pass or set screens or any of the countless things that help a team win games. It's like the argument that today's players are better because they shoot 3's and crossover and eurostep despite the fact that they might not be able to make a simple lay up with their opposite hand. Gobert does the things you need to help a team win games. The things that others don't want to do. That was evident early in the 2014 when a team trying to tank was suddenly competitive because of their backup center despite him not being as skilled as their so called big 4 at the time. It was evident every time over the past decade when he wasn't playing and the team once again sucked because he wasn't on the floor. Been evident the past year plus as the team gets decimated defensively despite Kessler supposedly being just as good already. Wolves fans seem to be getting it even if no one else does

none of which has anything to do with his relative standing among the games best players, and especially it’s all time best. What you are doing is with nobody serious needs. You’re explaining why somebody who is relatively unskilled on offense can still be an effective basketball player. even people who might troll know that people like him can be good basketball players. What they aren’t is as good as the numbers you posted suggested for incredibly obvious reasons. Being incredibly efficient and never turning the ball over is a direct result of a lack of basketball skills , which is why guys like him and Capela and DeAndre Jordan are so far ahead of guys like Bird, Hakeem, Kareem, Kobe, and Jordan in things like you posted.
you post absolutely irrelevant bullshit trying to rank him among various stars but when confronted with the fact that what you post doesn’t prove what you suggest you fall back on a general defense of him being good at basketball. He is good at basketball.
He’s just worse than an incredibly large number of other people are and have been. And every speck of your consistently brought up statistical evidence otherwise hinges on the fact he isnt good enough to be given the responsibility that would decrease those numbers, but increase his ability to play basketball.
He doesn’t have to lose anything to gain skills. He doesn’t have any skills Hakeem Olajuwon or David Robinson didn’t. He just lacks a bunch they did have. Take all responsibility and have them do nothing but set screens and crash to the basket they could do what he does and more. He sure as **** can’t do what they did. Give him more skills his efficiency numbers drop, but he plays basketball better, but you struggle to acknowledge that because as obvious as it is it goes against your whole persona.
he doesn’t have to lose any of the positives you were talking about. He can keep all those, and simply be much much much more skilled. It’s not one or the other. A tremendous number of great defenders have also been skilled offense. He just isn’t one of them. Tyson Chandler is the only defensive player of the year or the last 15 years who wasn’t called on to display considerably more offense skill than Rudy. Draymond and Noah were both their teams primary playmaker. Marc Gasol runs laps around Rudy skills wise.
All defensive monsters who didn’t have to be relegated to nothing but finishing lobs on offense. Rudy can’t do any of that.
He’s a better defensive Clint Capela. He’s a less athletic Nuggets Mutombo, or a more athletic Philly Mutombo. Though that’s probably not giving due respect to Mutombos 14 foot jumper he had for a while.
There’s nothing wrong with being Dikembe Mutombo in the wrong era. It just isn’t being elite.

and yet for some reason he impacted winning with the Jazz more than anyone without a statue. With Capela I'm pretty sure they would have still been a lottery team as they are now with Lauri/Kessler/Bum and as they were with Favors/Kanter/Burks/Hayward and The Black Hole/Millsap/Hayward not to mention AD/Griffith/Green/Bailey or Maravich/Truck/Goodrich or AK/Harpring. Considering you once claimed that having the sixth best record after the All-Star game constituted significant “winning” I can see how you would think that. Normal people who have seen what the great players you compare him to(both directly and indirectly by claiming he has been elite) have accomplished? They have a very different idea of “huge” impact.
He has thus far been an absolute historical footnote. A jeopardy question. One of the ones worth a lot of money too because 10 years after he retires you will never hear his name spoken aloud again. You’ve been on here for years talking about he needs help refusing to acknowledge that him and everyone like him to ever play Basketball is the help. Right now he’s Anthony Edwards help. You’re free to not like it and keep posting stats that are made worse by competence but in this case, as in all others when everyone see the same thing but the one guy….
It’s you who has the problem. It’s not the entire rest of the Earth. Everyone else has seen basketball too. You’ve just developed a weird emotional connection that makes you post in a delusional fashion.
And you’re welcome to continue. But when you do it the normal people are going to react. Which is probably what you’re going for.

an awful team that is tanking and had lost 8 in a row at one point in December but has the 6th best record once their starting center is replaced doesn't happen everyday. Exum and Burke were their pgs. They were a couple world beaters I tell you! Many other short lived NBA scrubs were part of that rotation. They had no business being one of the best teams for any stretch of time other than their new starting center. That is a huge impact and other than AK almost getting an even worse roster in the playoffs in his 3rd year is the only thing comparable in Jazz history. Maybe if they hadn't made the playoffs for two decades straight there would be but there isn't

If we're creating a legacy for players based on a flash in the pan 10 years ago, Whiteside is far greater than Mr. December. 2014-2016 version of Whiteside was a far superior player to Gobert and a much better defensive anchor. Too bad he didn't get his 200mil before he stopped caring. Gobert won't stop caring to be mediocre but his teammates don't care about him that's for sure

I heard a pretty scathing report on Hassan Whiteside’s personality being the issue. Apparently he’s just a total asshole. Teammates don’t seem to much like Rudy which I can understand considering he and Draymond are the only two players in the league we have seen throw a punch at a teammate, but whiteside is even worse. Just a jerk to the people around him. Hard to be around and bad for the environment. When the league also goes away from your type of player it’s hard to overcome being unlikable as well.

As I've said Whiteside should have been better than Gobert as should countless others. He wasn't and neither are most others. Pretty sure his teammates with the Wolves care about him. You can see it in the defense they have all bought into behind their defensive leader. Cancer didn't and they got rid of him just like the Jazz should have done with Mitchell and The Bum. You build around your best player they never made sense around him just like most of the others they had. Conley, Hill, Hayward, Ingles and Mitchell's bff O'Neale were his best teammates in Utah

It’s actually funny because my boxing coach was at the game,” Gobert said. “It’s the only game he’s come to this year. I didn’t throw a punch because I didn’t feel threatened. If I don’t feel threatened, I’m not going to throw a punch. If someone wants to fight, I’m easy to reach. We can take it off the court and deal with it as men. But, people need to stop acting like they are going to fight on the basketball court when they know security will be there to break it up. It’s cool for the cameras, but people need to stop acting like they are about that life.”

Nobody remembered as a winner didn’t win more than Rudy Gobert. In fact quite a few people remembered as cancers won significantly more even on teams with no more talent.

Ingles should have been 6th man of the year not that awful POS. Bojan would have been a nice 6th man. Certainly not someone you're winning much with as a starter. Good scorer. Little else. Olynyk is a lot better guy to have on your team. All those guys weren't on one team of course but don't let that get in the way!
The closest that got to putting a team around him happened because Favors had a bone bruise on his knee that wasn't going to get better during the season so they benched him and he played strictly backup center minutes otherwise they wouldn't have been as good as they were. The last legs of Joe Johnson started with Diaw's corpses behind him after that. Hood was still starting because he went to COTM's alma mater even though he had 6th man written all over him. Hayward peaked. The fantastic trio of Exum/Mack/Neto filled in for Hill after he hurt his toe and was in and out of the lineup. Only time they put the right blueprint around Gobert and it was obviously still very flawed and they only did that to appease Hayward and he left anyway!

Gobert was never the franchise player for the Jazz, it was Hayward and then Mitchell
Gobert is a really good defensive player, but he's not someone you build a team around as a franchise player.
If you're building a team around Gobert then your ceiling is the first round of the playoffs
and yet the team was awful when Gobert wasn't on the floor. Since they never did build around him we don't actually know what their ceiling was though they did make the 2nd round twice as underdogs despite that

Well he put up 25/11 with this 35/14/5 game seven to win the first of them:
https://youtu.be/F2o54nkay2I?si=GLeowXWLjeZ6YRLp
And led the Bulls in scoring and rebounds with 17/11 on 55% shooting in the last of them.
I wouldn’t say he was the best player at the time but it appears he was a significant player for all 7 though I’ve not gone year by year.
he wouldn't have been playing ahead of AK or Millsap if Sloan had a clue and often didn't because he was always hurt

Having checked 4 of the six I mentioned started in the 21 playoffs and Clarkson and ingles came off the bench with favors. They did in fact have 3 2021 all stars, the sixth man of the year, Bojan, ingles, and favors in the same playoffs. Did I misunderstand something?

So he shouldn’t have been allowed to Bully Houston and the warriors to make the wcf while Deron was going 1-11 as he got them to the next round? Should they have beaten the eventual champion Spurs or what?
What would not playing Boozer have done to help?

I thought you meant 3 all stars besides Gobert. Mitchell, The Bum, Bojan starting isn't anything to get excited about despite the accolades. Ingles had his best season since he had to stay in Utah because of the pandemic and actually worked out in the off season for the first time
The best team with their 1 all star was the closest they got to putting a proper team around Gobert and it doesn't compare with the team he's on now. Not even close

not playing Boozer would have given them a better team and a higher seed. Who knows if they make the western conference finals but AK at the 4 was better than anything Boozer ever did. When Millsap replaced him early in the 2008 season he was putting up basically the same numbers while not being a turnstile on D. Jerry wasn't one for thinking outside the box unfortunately. Deron/Boozer gave him his watered down version of Stockton and Malone. Than instead of putting a defensive center next to Millsap like Chandler they acquired The Black Hole. Never did appreciate what they had in Millsap. If we only could have seen the Gobert/Millsap frontline

You can't build a championship team around Rudy Gobert because if Rudy is your best player that team is not making it further than the second round, it's not even a diss at him as a player it's just reality

The Boozer and Dwill run maximized the Jazz potential. Paul Millsap wasn’t getting them past the big 3 spurs, the back to back champion Lakers, the mavs who beat those lakers and Thunder and by then Paul was on the Hawks as one of 3(or 4) all stars forming the most obvious pretender in nba history. A fluke WCF run is about all any Jazz team should have achieved in the last 20 years.
Nothing was lost playing Boozer. All the teams they would need to beat to do anything they already didnt would have ground the jazz into a thin paste and used them as chum to attract a team worth taking serious.
You talk like a higher seed goes on a banner. It doesn’t matter if you’re the 2009 Blazers instead of the Jazz. A few more wins before inevitable defeat isn’t what serious franchises are gunning for. You can win or you can’t. They were doomed to be pretenders no matter the specifics.
If true victory was the goal no combo of players from that era would achieve it.

surprised you got him 3rd. McDaniel and Ant I presume? Towns has never been better despite being so skilled! Who said you could build a championship team around him? You certainly build around your best player which he was in Utah. They made it to the 2nd round twice despite not building around him so you can't really say that was their ceiling

Millsap was better than Boozer as was AK as a 4. They're guys I want on my team.Where that puts them in the standings I don't know because Sloan is still the coach. Okur or The Black Hole is still the center. There are guys I like and guys I don't. Guys that don't play D and are hurt all the time don't make my team. If Towns was better they never would have acquired Gobert. Gobert won games with whomever the Jazz played with him. Towns did nothing but lose before Ant except briefly with Butler and we know what Butler thought of Towns. Butler and Thibs would probably still be in Minny if Gobert had been there instead of KAT. Towns should be better. He is highly skilled and we all know that is the only thing that matters in basketball! Cousins should have been better. Whiteside should have been better. Favors should have been better. That list goes on and on. Few have been though.

Who you like is your business. But your affections don’t win games with players who aren’t good enough. And none of the players in question were so it doesn’t much matter the order they played. What Sloan chose got them as far as what was possible. Playing guys you like more to no likely difference isn’t his job.
Jazz don’t get extra credit for running out a team you like that’s gonna lose anyway.
Just like “building around” someone they clearly didn’t feel was someone to build the team to suit doesn’t get them anything.
Your approval isn’t of any value. They couldn’t win no matter what but you tend to suggest they should play to suit your personal interests when the outcome isn’t gonna change in any way that matters.
It’s like me complaining the Bulls should have played Korver more because I liked watching him more than Keith Bogans. I’d be less annoyed. But there wouldn’t be any significant difference if we couldn’t beat the Big 3 Heat so what would playing to my feelings accomplish?

Gobert had Mitchell and Conley + solid cast of role players like Bogdan,Ingles and Royce and 6moy
Towns had Wiggins and a bunch of scrubs
Right now Towns is better imo

yes they were better. Boozer never had a season close to AK's all-star year rather he could run the pick and roll with Deron or not and he wasn't as good as Millsap certainly by 2008 probably earlier. Obviously Sloan is still coach and they still have other issues. But to think they can't beat the 8th seed without the legendary Boozer is laughable!
No idea if Bogans should have played over Korver. I thought Sloan played Korver too much when he was here but than Sloan had him shooting mid range curls not threes. But I do have opinions on guys I saw plenty of and Boozer being able to run pick and roll and rebound when he happened to not be injured wasn't enough to make-up for all his weaknesses. Sloan's best coaching job was AK's all-star year when he played a different system based on the players he had instead of trying to make guys fit into Dick Motta's system

Yeah poor Towns playing with another top pick in the draft! Gobert won with Exum, Burke, the other Millsap, Mack, Neto, The Matador, Whiteside, etc. He won with plenty of scrubs and few guys that actually fit around him. He made Hayward and Mitchell into all-stars. You don't become an all-star if your team doesn't win and they didn't win when Gobert wasn't playing. Give Gobert Millsap, Demarre, Hayward, Hill, Conley, Ingles, O'Neale etc. and no one would have wanted to play them

To do…what?
What does anything you’re talking about matter if they can’t beat teams that matter? The ceiling is the same. The one Boozer already got them to.
Of what relevance is the precise minutes mix of players that are going to lose anyway?
Nothing you’re complaining about is of any consequence. Your affections don’t go on banners. The Spurs…the lakers…whoever…were going to wipe the floor with them.
What do you actually get out of changing who starts when the teams ceiling was reached exactly the way Sloan played it?
What do you get for “Better”(in your opinion) in a world where your best would be defeat before you get out of the west anyway? And they already did all that?

Mitchell's first two years his on/off was positive. The 3 years he made the all star team he was a negative every year while Gobert was never a negative. Good luck being an all star without Gobert. Generally you have to win games to be an all-star and they weren't winning without Gobert. Hayward did better though he was a negative the year before his all star year when they had a lot less talent and Gobert missed 20 games. He wasn't as good as Gobert though. Possible he would have been an all-star without Gobert but probably not because they likely still would have been tanking as they'd tried to do the previous 2 years despite Gobert's massive impact. They certainly would have won a lot less games with Favors and Kanter instead of Gobert
