Can they win the championship? Erving Embiid and Maxey are a solid trio

I agree with you Louie. But Joel will still has to be a dominant player in the playoffs for them to winning a championships. He needs to show he will do that.

Maxway and Irving would be transition weapons , but in the playoffs a lot of it is based on half court stunts

Add a prime Dr. J to current day Pistons or Wizards and their making the playoffs, so adding him to a already playoff ready team like the Sixers and yes I could see them winning it all. Embiid still has to show up to make it work.

Hard to say. 80s is way different from today. Insert Julius now is inserting an athletic wing who can bounce all over the place. Put Maxey and Embiid in the 80s is way better than Toney and Moses.
Julius now is hard to assess because every wing is Athletic. Big hands, attacking alpha with mad athticism could be anywhere from Lavine to Paul George. Maybe a hybrid of the two. In which case

Julius Erving is a top 20 players of all time, I think that he and Embiid could probably win a championships together. He was a better Finals performer than the late Kobe Bryant.

Fo fo fo fo….wouldn’t even be a question. Even if he brings his 1970’s game to the table without translating to the modern game at all….fo fo fo fo if embiid is healthy in the playoffs.
Hell embiid was pretty much dragging a dude with a game from the 50’s (Benjamin)to the playoffs every year….the 70’s would be an improvement :oldlol:

His prime was pre 3 points line. He did have a mid range in his bag. It looked like Drexler
Toney was my favorite Sixer before Hawkins. It's no disgrace to say Maxey is better.

I thought Doctor was playing better D and shooting better towards the end of his career.

I don't thinknhe was any better. But I guess it's easy to look good when you have Bobby Jones and Cheeks
