I’m reminded of a few years ago was when he was inexplicably defending prime Durant despite being like 2 inches shorter than me.

I’m sure it reminds some of you of a famous picture you long forgot was actually a charge, but I’m sure we’ll get to that in due time.

When skinny skilled-type bigs are defended by short stocky guys they shouldn't try backing them down. Don't even drop the ball below your shoulders. Just turn around and shoot over the top. It's basically a free throw. But a thin dude like Holmgrem isn't strong enough to move Paul. Save yourself from some frustration.

I noticed that live last night and couldn't believe Chet passed it back out.

guys don't know how to play with their back to the basket even though they are so much more skilled than guys of the past who could do that and many other things that have been lost in today's game

He should have passed it back out immediately and reposted deeper.

Something guys dont seem to do anymore for no apparent reason, as Shaq and Chuck have oft pointed out.

Reminds me of mugsy bogues being an elite defender at 5'3 or 6'7 old Rodman locking down Shaq. Leverage is a bitch. It's like football lower man wins usually.

Not really surprising. You can't get leverage on a shorter person who weighs basically the same as you but is a foot shorter.

In that same game.

I was just going to say, all he needed to do was turnaround fadeaway. Noway he doesnt know how to turn to his right?

He probably thought it'd be an easy back down and layup. Probably a pride thing to not try and back down somebody whose a foot shorter than you.

Bogues was never an elite defender. He could be pesky being so small but his size was certainly something you take advantage of as well

He was arguably the hardest person to dribble against in history. One of the few to get guards to call up a forward to bring it up when he decided to press.

Being small doesn't necessarily make you pesky. Celtics IT from a few years ago was a traffic cone at 5'9. Paul and Bogues both have that defensive motor, grit, and anticipation in them. In addition to their quickness and leverage.
