View Full Version : Do you support the US no matter what or hold it responsible?

For example, I read that the US basically made South American countries its slave; Argentina, Cuba, Nicaragua, etc. In a nutshell, the US made those countries dependent by uneven trade deals. Thus the term Banana Republic. And if their governments dare to challenge, the US simply topples it. What the US media called 'Russian intervention' in 2016, we have done to many countries for decades in way more massive scale.
This has done irreparable damage to those countries and their citizens. Way worse than what HAMAS did to Israel. Do you personally hold the US responsible for those or are you more of 'our sins doesn't matter' kind of person?

The founding fathers would tell you that the foundation of American democracy is to question the government and hold it responsible for tyranny.
There are many quotes attributed to them as such.

That's more internally though. Like we can impeach or not vote for them again. Or even put them on trial. But what about the people impacted. Such as generations of argentinians, cubans, etc? Do we hold ourselves responsible for their continued suffering?

no country on earth has clean hands. no country will ever be perfect. america is the closest thing we have. it's why so many people want to come here and so few people want to leave.
i think the world would be a far worse place if basically any non western country were the strongest superpower leading the rest of us.

The United States is a historical anomaly. Its the most powerful country ever, and yet, its been remarkably peaceful. Can you think of another powerful country or empire you can say that about? The most recent examples are the Soviet Union and the British Empire, and they were invading countries left and right. Hmmm, well, maybe we should too. :hammerhead:

we're basically an imperialist power at this point. you could argue we've been that way since the end of the second ww but it's become increasingly more apparent in the past couple of decades. we're never done telling the world how to live. israel/gaza russia/ukraine, china/taiwan. we stick our nose in everything. we don't respect other cultures, governments and ways of life. it's our way or the highway.
we're supposed to be the world's economic engine of prosperity. we're supposed to flourish as a commercial power, not a militant one. we're supposed to be the shining example of what every other country strives to be. we've lost that.

While I agree with that notion, Americans in general are pretty ignorant about the devastating damage the US has done to the world. Many Americans are wondering why the world hates us and pass it off as jealousy when in fact these countries have legitimate reasons.

It's not the US, but rather those who get to the top. You have psychopathic individuals who are attracted to power and profit. They don't care about the citizens, and so are willing to blatantly lie to the citizens, send hundreds of billions of dollars to Ukraine for democracy, (which increases highwhey's taxes), have 600,000 Ukrainians die, destroy that whole country, all to profit. Essentially force vaccination with an experimental vaccine that doesn't work, coercion, including children who are basically immune, 6 month olds, for profit. They would stab a baby in the eye if meant an extra hundred dollars. That's how you have to look at it. Pelosi, Biden, Bush and the people behind them. The same goes for those in power in other countries.

How many countries has the United States helped?
You can't say something as ludicrous as the United States has caused devastating damage across the world. It just sounds silly.

be that as it may, that's the game.
unfortunately the world isn't sunshine and rainbows. we can't all hold hands and sing kumbaya. all of the countries around the world are seated at the same poker table, and everyone is out for themselves. america just so happens to be the country with the biggest stack, which enables us to bully the other players around and scoop up most of the pots.
every other country would be doing the same thing in our shoes. it's just the game.

you're right, the world would be so much better and more prosperous if people like you were in charge.
then people would be allowed to own homes, but not land.

While it's possible you are of mixed descent, you look very white and I just assume you're of fully Spanish ancestry (since you said your family is Cuban) given your total hatred of black and brown people. Not denying white looking people can be mixed, I am one of them myself, but if you're mixed you're generally not going to be hateful towards people like you. So I suspect you are fully Spanish ancestry wise. Maybe I'm wrong, but you'll never prove it :lol

You don't know what I look like because you've never seen me. I am actually darker than you. But even if my ancestry was completely White Spanish or whatever you want to designate it as, I would still be considered a minority today. So yes, not all minorities are a monolith and think like you.

No one has seen my pic because I have never been stupid enough to post it on a message board full of men.
Am I not Latino? Are Latinos not a minority? Case closed.
Well, Latinos will be a majority very soon. Primarily Mexican Latino which the rest of us aren't too very fond of. This country will be in a world of shit with all these different cultures just not assimilating.

the boarders are allowing those same people into our hated country.
My point is if Trump would of succeeded in his ownly term , he would of built a wall the whole length of the border not coming up 900 miles short, just like his brain.
When more people vote like I do , bipartisan , our country would be far better off, instead of stupid people creating separation.

Well as with anything, it always boil down to individuals. Only a very small member of the NAZI party was orchestrating the evil but does that mean Germany shouldn't have to pay anything after WWII? Keep all the land they conquered?

they want democracy, yet refuse giving up their rights to bare arm. they believed they built a government responsible to stop tyrannies yet none of them donated away their fortune.
the Hobbit pretty much detailed the end of the US government
because, it's time for them to say the internet is just a... DRAGON
how annoyed are democrats about the expansion of the protecton of the Vatican? I mean, it completely defeats the idealogy of not breeding children into military, because, peace.

A constitutional Republic is a type of democracy. It's not direct democracy but still democracy.
