LeBron have a losing streaks in the NBA Finals. He lost 9 of his first 11 game in the NBA Final, then lost 8 of 9 against the Golden State Warriors. He almost win FMVP losing the series in 2015 when he average 35.8 ppg, 13.3 rpg, and 8.8 apg, it was a better Final than any of Kobe.

The days when we acknowledged the non-winners are long gone, unfortunately. We make everything about winning so much that we, as a society proudly state winning is everything, it is the only thing, etc. Which in general is a sad state of affairs as there are very few people who can 'win', so you either fabricate a reason why you are still a winner or you simply are not interesting, don't count or even ridiculed. Also, I wish if the media ceased being a branch of power and went back to simply reporting events. Won't happen. I'd give it to NBA starters, coaches and GMs to choose all award winners. Again, won't happen.

That was back when players voted for awards right?
I mean, if the players say you're the best than who's to argue that.

I know you're meming OP, but I honestly don't get how LeBron didn't get FMVP in 2015. He's the only reason that series went past 4 games.

Wasnt there some “players MVP” going on recently, which I havent heard mentioned in a while?
I feel like one of Steph’s MVP years Harden was voted as the “players MVP” in some kind of unofficial award they did for it.
Am I completely remembering that wrong?? Cant recall hearing anything about the alternate MVP since but Im pretty sure it was a thing for a minute…

Yea harden won the players union mvp but that same year Lebron won “Player you secretly wish was on your team” which is a wild award to hand out.

MVP should be based partially on winning. I'm glad they stopped doing it, giving an MVP to a player whose on a losing team makes absolutely zero sense.

Lol, crazy thing is I bet they'd want those votes back. Harden vs Curry.

Just case by case. Nobody in the nba is better or more valuable than Kareem because other players on the team make it better. If I call and offer a swap and I’m gonna get laughed at my guy probably isn’t more valuable. At least if it isn’t an age related decision.

When Pettit won in 55, there was 8 teams. His team was 33-39. Only three teams had a winning record that season. Warriors won 45 (only team with 40 wins.)
That was actually the 1st MVP award given. That was his 2nd season in the league.
