Apparently Washington doesn't think this dude is a franchise player (no snide remarks please). I can't imagine that Washington would want much back given that they're tanking. A first round pick should get it done. And I'm sure some will say that that's too much but for all his flaws he's still a guy that can average 20. If they can't have Lavine this could be the move for the z Lakers.

Does anybody decent want to risk the chemistry challenges he might present? Like what do you do with him? Bring him off the bench and tell him to stfu?

It would be a"contender" that's not actually good enough to win the championship but it's trying anyway. Situating like this always bring Lakers to mind for me. If they hadn't gotten Harden I would have listed the Clippers.

Yeah I suppose so, high risk, high reward move that either gets you a chip or your GM fired.

You guys have no idea about his contract I bet. Nobody will touch him, or should want him for that price.

The NBA prints money and every time a new contract comes out people react with shock. The supermax is twice as much money. Teams have already been handing out deals everyone thinks are crazy because they have to pay out that money to someone.

He can be traded with assets attached just like Simmons was traded. I don't expect anything before the trade deadline though.

Positive only if you want to lose.

He has no value. 4 years left on the deal man...
He's lost the ability to make 3s but his shot selection is still just as bad. He's not a good playmaker. Plays 0 defense. Worst BBIQ out of any player in the league. Who tf would want him right now? He's perfect for Washington as they need to be in the tank until they strike gold. Their FRPs are top 8-12 protected the next 3 years so that's where they gotta be.

Washington don't want to win by losing as they arent a good team? Might as well keep Poole and tank for a better lottery position. Tank the next 3-4 years, draft some nice young talent.

In theory that is right but Poole is jacking up so many shots it is hindering the development of other young guys. Plus he is toxic in terms of building a better culture.
I would trade him for a 2nd rounder in 2030 :oldlol:

Without Curry the scouting report is out and the defence now focuses on him. He's not even worth 15m let alone 30m.

The more I think about it he's probably only fit for a 6th man microwave type of role with a short leash.

He's not a franchise player, but most people already knew that. He doesn't need majority opinion to be that he's worth 30 mil per. He needs one GM to think of they trade for him they're a better team. If he was with the Lakers he would just be a third option and the Warriors had the ultimate successes with him in that role. Not that he was the main reason for that success but he was an important player and it was shown then that he can be part of a winning formula. I don't think he would make them a champion personally but if Pelinka finds them around 5th place at the trade deadline with no reason to believe they beat Denver in a series they will do something. If Philly is solidly third in the East they will feel pressure to do something. If Memphis comes back from the dead after Morant returns. They could be looking for a boost. Basically any team pressured to make a move at the trade deadline will be looking at scorers on teams that are going nowhere. Nba history is full of guys like Gilbert Arenas and Been Simmons that were thought to be untradeable and got moved. Someone would be willing to take a chance on Poole.
Note that I'm just saying he can be moved. I'm not saying they will get a good return. A first round pick would be a major win.

Only the Knicks, Lakers, and maybe the Kings are dumb enough to give up a first for Poole.

But the Wizards front office are serious people. They're NBA executives. They would definitely do a better job than anyone that posts here. There is no possible way that they are stupid people that have not the slightest clue what they're doing.
After all, they're getting paid by the NBA. We're just stupids on a dead message board. Trust them.
Signing Bradley Beal, Kyle Kuzma and trading for Jordan Poole all with huge money were all a bunch of genius level moves. We're just too stupid to see it because we're peasants and they are gods.
Remember kids, always trust NBA front offices. They're serious people. All ex-players are always right, even when they directly disagree with one another.

Not to defend their whole record but the Wizards traded Chris Paul to get Poole and a bunch of draft picks. The first round pick isn't until 2030 but it's still a first round pick. For a rebuilding team that doesn't care about the money it was a fine deal. And if they can get another pick out of Poole it's even better. What were they going to do with Chris Paul? They're trying to lose. They are surprised that Poole had shown himself to be so bad at thinking the game so he's no longer someone they want to build with but Paul wasn't going to be the solution and they got some picks.

It's not just his horrible I do mean HORRIBLE, contract but like others mentioned, dude is a team killer/toxic, probably the worst player in the NBA, terrible BBIQ.
Was given the keys to Washington and his fg%, ppg all down from to the last two years. I was expecting him to avg 24+ ppg
(but with worst percentages). No more Curry, Klay, Dramond, Wiggins, to ride on.
Anyone in the NBA can be move but for the right price. Maybe a bad contract for another bad contract or or Winning or not, noway Philly or LA will touch him because.....read the above. You really believe he is valuable, maybe the team you root for should trade for him.

It's not that I think he's valuable, it's that I think they're is likely aGM that will think he could be the answer to the team's problems. I wouldn't want him on the Celtics as currently constructed. Would rather keep Pritchard in his role. That doesn't mean a GM on a desperate team with maybe a bad contract and the willingness to mortgage a pick couldn't step in.

low IQ and selfish
I was laughing every time he was on the court against the lakers last year
he singlehandedly cost the warriors that series last year with his awful defense and momentum-killing chucking :oldlol:

“You flexing championship, but you ain’t bringing champion environment in here,” the 15x All-Star mentioned. Garnett carried on with his harsh judgments, stating, “You learned this in Golden State, ni**a?”. The NBA icon added, “This what you brought from there?”. He berated the 24-year-old, highlighting, “They got your a** out of there cause you weren’t going to fall in line”. Failing to control his rage, Kevin put forward a jarring remark, mentioning, “Ni**as like this don’t belong in our league”. (https://thesportsrush.com/nba-news-jordan-poole-does-not-belong-in-the-league-kevin-garnett-delivers-harsh-judgement-on-wizards-star-1-month-into-the-season/) “I don’t want my son under no ni**a like that,” the 2008 NBA champion mentioned justifying his stance. Surprisingly, Garnett was not the first one to showcase concerns over the inclusion of Poole into the Wizards franchise.
