The best video I have seen on the current issue of SF. Watching this vid felt like I was watching a VICE vid from 2012, back when they were relevant.

Stayed there a couple nights on the northern end a few months ago. It was okay where we were but on the drive out there were huge pockets that looked like a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Sad.

Used to be a great city.

There are still some nice parts. I used to work in the North Beach area years ago and loved it, you did see some crazies here and there, but overall it was a chill environment. Food was awesome too.

the unfortunate part of this opiate -now fentanyl- epidemic is that it was all entirely avoidable had anyone in the government...republicans or democrats or literally ANYONE stood up and said "hey, we should not allow pharma companies hook Americans on these extremely addictive drugs". instead everyone was happy looking the other way. and to this day, no one really accepts responsibility or acknowledges the governmental failure. the republicans just blame democrats for liberal policies that attract mass homeless populations to their metro areas which in turn bring a lot of drug addicts as drug addicts are a subset of homeless people. and democrats blame republicans for lack of funding in state sponsored addiction treatment centers/programs. yeah...the DEA now has a "dIvERsiOn ProGRam"...like 10 years too late, the hook was set and developed already. who knows, in 10 years time another chemically similar drug will surface with even more potency and addiction characteristics than fentanyl.

opiates=heroin=fentanyl ...chemically the structure is the same, they bind to the same receptors just different in potency. meanwhile the DEA holds pressers for capturing el chapo while not a single pharma exec pushing opiates to millions of americans has ever been imprisoned. make it make sense.

great video. its sad to see how far san fran has fallen, considering it has been one of americas greatest cities since the late 1800s.

this is san fran 9 years after the great earthquake of 1906
