Im wondering how many of you rank the 23 second team above the 07 first team. But you might also feel the 07 third team clears the 23 first team if they had to actually play. Which is why the 1-6 is on the table…but not specifically requested. I’m just sitting it there to nibble on if the mood should take you.

Stoudemire making an actual ALL-NBA team is bad. Him making first team is unthinkably bad. There was no way in hell he could play a single position on a basketball court better than Andrei Kirilenko that year. And was definitely worse than Marion at almost everything.

07 Third team is quite possibly the best team here. Melo gives me a pause though. But then again 07 first team has the only guy worse defensively and worse at passing.

23 first team is pretty loaded IMO. Probably the most stable and balanced. A lot of dynamic skillsets.

Throw 23 third team off a cliff.

There are at least 6 non-Hall of Famers on 2023. I guarantee you Randall, Sabonis, Brown and Mitchell will not make it.

when you look at the 23 team, you'd say, that's full of players that seems to be much better at handling the double situation. I think that attributes to good fundamentals, where as the 07 team may get those alley oops catching the other team sleeping on assignments. but again, in comparison, I'd say the 23 team produces a slightly better product without coaches calling timeouts

Are you sure. Sampson was College player of the year 3 straight years and followed it up with 4 All-Star bids, All-NBA Teams and a trip to the Finals in year 3.

as I said hard to guarantee guys aren't making it. Sampson made it because of college. Others made it because they were international players or were on the right team and got rings as role players. Who can say the guys you mentioned won't rack up rings on the right team or medals internationally? Sabonis was on one of the best college teams and plays for one of the best international teams besides being one of the top players in the league. A bit early to write him off

Mitchell is a few months from being a five time All-Star. He’s putting up 29 five and five this year and he’s 27. Barring injury he’s going to have too many accolades to not make the Hall of Fame. He was just all nba second team at a position the nba is strong in. Centers like Deandre Jordan and Drummond won’t make it for all nba and those lesser guys are why they removed the center position but at non declined spots like guard? There are only 3 non HOF all nba second teamers in like 20 years and all 3 went down injury in their primes. I’m talking guys like Arenas and Roy.

To not make it he’d have to fall off pretty damn suddenly Deron Williams style.

It’s certainly possible with injuries but barring that? Hes gonna be at least a 7-9 time all star and multi time all nba. Be like Demar DeRozan at worst as a guy who might squeak in and have people unhappy about it.

He could fall off in a year or so Arenas style but that’s what it would take.

What it says is your opinion on coat tails isn’t widespread or of much consequence. If Rudy has a healthy four-year run with Minnesota winning a lot, it’s not inconceivable he could make it either. But I’ve heard people I know for a fact had Hall of Fame ties on PTI who didn’t seem particularly impressed with him. He gets mocked a lot by current Hall of Famer as well. Dwight Howard did as well but has far more accolades. He was eight or nine time all NBA guy and most of those were first team. Rudy has some work to do perception wise. People already in the hall laughing at him doesn’t help.

Jazz were a great team with Gobert on the floor and an awful team without him. Said that since December of 2014 since that was been the case despie any narrative to the contrary. 3 all-star appearances for Mitchell on the Jazz and all 3 years they were better with him sitting on the bench. Scoring, hype, all-star appearances mean little obviously.
