Nope. Still Kareem. Kareem won FMVP at 38 years old. Lebron was dead weight at 38 years old.

Kareem's scoring was still there when he was 39, but he often got criticized for his rebounding and defense for the majority of the 80's (especially by Wilt).
Dude averaged 6 rpg as a 39 year old which is crazy considering his size.

The above games were 4 days apart vs Hakeem and Ewing when Kareem was Lebrons current age. This is him the following season at 40

Closing out the finals with 32 on 72% shooting.
If even old Kareem were just given the ball to do whatever on teams that weren’t gonna win like Lebron the last few year he likely has much better scoring numbers. But he was just coasting by then.
I guess it depends on how you wanna look at it.
Would Kareem be better if he demanded to stay the focus of the team and ate up everyone to the detriment of the team just because his numbers would be better?
It’s true when he got old, he didn’t have the defense or stamina he used to, but he definitely could’ve been more productive if he were focused on showing he wasn’t washed up. If he can give 86 to Hakeem and Ewing back to back he could have done quite a bit if he wanted to fight a “Washed king” narrative.

I already made a thread on this last week OP.
Lebron is still battling Kareem for longevity GOAT, although Bron is definitely on pace to take that title.
I'd like to see Bron play 2-3 more years of superstar/high all-star level play before I give him the GOAT longevity title (or if Lebron/Lakers somehow win a chip this year).

still doing things he's never done at 39!

It's between him and Kareem. At 39 years of age in 1986, Kareem was still dropping 40 pieces on the likes of Hakeem and Ewing as others said. On a per age basis, they are 1a/1b to me.
If we look at the totality of their careers, then Lebron is already pulling away because he had a head start coming straight out of high school.

You really only have three options...KAJ who has the awards, Stockton who has the consistency, and Lebron who has the legacy stats
