Listen, I love the pairing of Durant/Booker just as any other Suns fan does, but they are not on 2012 LeBron & Wade's level.

KD & Book are so much better offensively.

Yea?

Yea.

If only they had a 3rd star and a solid group of role players around em like those Heat teams.

The offensive numbers with those two is off the charts. KD a damn near 50/50/90 player while averaging 31 ppg at 35 years old bro and Book is arguably even better at this stage in their careers and put up an insane run in the POs last year. Both are good defensively as well so it's not just all offense with the 2.

Comparing modern stats to those of even a decade ago they're inflated. Durant is a special offensive talent but 2012 James was easily better than current Durant as an overall player because of the difference in defence (he doesn't do it anymore but James was an elite defender). Close to retirement James is almost averaging 25, you put him in the league in his prime and he's going well over 30 any night he feels like doing it. About the only thing James could not do in the current NBA if he had his prime athleticism is be an elite 3pt shooter. Anything else would be well within his talent.

Wade vs. Booker is a tough one. Booker gets the nod offensively but Wade was a much better defender.

I would go with the Heat duo because they make a great defensive core along with all they do on offense.

2012 LeBron alone is more valuable than 2023 Durant + Booker.

2012 LeBron is probably the most valuable NBA player of all time. Next to 1991 Jordan.

So your answer to the thread is KD/Booker?

Or did you just throw the offensive thing out there as a way to not have to say Lebron as part of an answer?

Better for what? This is probably a low-hanging fruit take but I'd side with the duo that produced a chip, unless we're saying end results aren't part of the conversation.

Slightly higher hanging fruit take? 2012 Lebron is far and away the best player here, and I'd still take the experience of 2012 Wade over current Booker ( 2013 onwards I'd take Booker). KD/Booker mesh better offensively. Overall I'd lean Bron/Wade.

The defensive advantage and KD's age makes this a comfortable win for Bron/Wade.

Even with prime KD it's the same result but closer. The only disparity is the shooting which makes it much easier to build a team around Book/KD. But Books being a terrible defender is the real nail in the coffin.
