How do we revive this Lounge??

This Lounge has been dead for quite some time now. The NBA Forum is where topics are created daily. And I don't know half of those people that post on that Forum. The Lounge is for everything else besides basketball. So why aren't we creating topics of discussion? Why do we have to see Wrestling threads at the top of the page? No one cares about lame ass wrestling nowadays. Where did all the interesting posters and topics go? All we see nowadays is constant trolling and flame wars that only push good posters away. Is it possible to create a topic where no one insults one another and actually discusses the topic at hand? We can do better.

This forum is garbage. I went outside of my norm and created a bball thread to make a bracket for this in-season tournament and no one partook.

Not many fans of basketball anymore, just fans of a certain player regardless of whether they're in the league, dead etc.

The sad thing is I don't think Jeff cares anymore. Every reply to every thread is usually a troll reply with no moderation whatsoever. And yes, unless you're talking about Lebron or Trump, no one cares about random topics anymore to comment.

There's only like 15-20 regular posters here now and 95% of them won't bother starting a topic, let alone an interesting one in the OTC.

As for the OP. It could be RRR3 (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?514241-What-happened-to-this-site&p=14834428&viewfull=1#post14834428).

Satan asked a similar question, and the activity level of the Off the Court started going down immediately after Satan left and RRR3 became something like 20x more active.


It's all a matter of comparing how things were before "Satan" (who could be RRR3) left and after.

After Satan left, highwhey and Axe have significantly decrease their activity in the Off the Court/Political discussion. In highwhey's case, perhaps because of the conditioning while he was deleted. While with Axe, things dwindled after 2qr3 became more active, and as we all know, Axe seems to be petrified of him. (Then again, they both could be the same person).

There's still the possibility that Axe and highwhey are the same person, thus why they both decreased their posting in the Off the Court/Political Discussion during the same period.

The Off the Court is not very strong, so when you have two prolific posters not posting as much, then the activity level will go down.

Then you have the RRR3 factor. After Satan left, RRR3 immediately became more active in the Off the Court/Political Discussion. And I like RRR3, but many people just find him quite unlikable. And that's a strong deterrent. Even 2qr3, a new person here, has expressed disgust towards RRR3, describing him as diabolical, ruining his experience here on ISH, making him reconsider if he should be a member or not.

But there have been some good moments over the last two months. Mind blowing moments, such as Jasper finally learning how to embed YouTube videos. That was simply mind blowing.

When you have the ability to make new members regret joining. That's powerful.
