Reaves had an amazing game. But because it is considered the 83rd game of the season for the lakers it does not count. The points do not contribute to season stats therefore nullifying any totals. While the tournament accolade itself has meaning, the contributions from the final game itself does not.

Jordan:
38 points
7 rebounds
5 assists
3 steals
1 blocks

Austin:
0 points
0 rebounds
0 assists
0 steals
0 blocks

Yes, Austin Reaves is better than Michael Jordan. This is the kind of help that's carrying LeShrivel.

If the league considers this tournament to be tantamount to a playoff, then tournament stats in the elimination stage should be formally counted toward playoff stats/averages IMO. The intensity in the elimination stage was clearly playoff-esque, and theyre also getting paid for the games beyond the normal regular season earnings. No reason not to count their production as playoff stats. In fact it would further incentivize players to care.

Dont understand why they wouldnt count it(the game/stats) toward the season. I mean they won a trophy, mvp trophy as well, 500k cash money each player, even the 2way guys got 250k. The IST is a great idea but the league not counting the game makes you think somewhat less of it, so things kind of doesnt make sense.

Actually lebron didn't earn much more based on his per-game rate.

His salary makes him average about 500k/game anyways. So the 83rd game of the season he had to win to earn his average rate. The other games however, since they count towards the 82 games in a season he got his base rate + bonuses for forward progress.
