One of the finest ways to analyze basketball is to put everything on one player's presence or absence. Of course David is very important. But not having those other two starters also hurt the Lakers. If a guy is an established part of how a team plays they are going to miss him. Sometimes a team has guys that can step up into the void but more often they don't.
