Joel Embiid’s 35.1 PPG this season are the most by a Center since Wilt Chamberlain in 1964 😲

Bob McAdoo had some pretty high scoring seasons. Not sure of Shaq, Hakeem, Ewing and Rob ever hit the 30 mark. They hovered around 28-29 for their peaks I believe.

It's important for Joel to make an MVP run this year....but it's in threads like this I always enjoy pointing out.

People put Shaq in the top ten all-time...20 years never a 30 PPG season.

If 30 PPG was a requirement to be a top tenner, then Bradley Beal would be an all time great.

30 in this era isn't the same as 30 in any era

He’s the only one in the top 10 not to do this. Well, besides Russell. And Duncan. I guess Magic didn’t do it either. And if we’re not counting 29.7, Bird misses the cut too. And Hakeem.

So besides those 5, Shaq’s the only one in the top 10 to never average 30 ppg.

So what’s the conversion rate of toody’s average of 12 ppg this season in other eras? 5.3 ppg? 6.8 ppg?

I calculate there's about a 20% inflation in the current era. So to compare to a different era, add or subtract 20% depending on which era's stat you start with.

I mean if you want to call Beal greater than Shaq...or Jack Twyman by all means. Dozens of guys managed to hit the 30 PPG number. This whole narrative about who is the most dominant player ever or how great advanced stats are. In truth Wilt is a defining great...Shaq and(Jokic) are not.

Ever notice that when people don't have any facts they have to reduce themselves to throwing out insults. It's like uh that thing that people do when they are small and the brains aren't fully formed and their balls haven't descended.....

children it's the act of children

I don´t think you can compare the Points with the past Era of the NBA.
To score 30 Points nowadays is like scoring 20 Points back then.
