Doc may have been an overrated coach who coasted on the shoulders of his assistants … but I won’t pretend he isn’t someone with a great, fatherly, comforting voice. And tons of historically relevant and entertaining trivia at his disposal. And so much insight to modern players and squads.

Doc will make a far greater, more competent TV personality than another smooth talking (but terribly annoying) former coach: Mark Jackson.

Nah Doc ain't that bad. He has personality and enough recent-coaching experience to be informative enough. Where he would truly shine though is next to another competent color man. Doris Burke ain't that person and drags the whole crew down with her dryness. Still don't know what ESPN/ABC were thinking promoting her to their main crew. They call the game-of-the-night each time but the game doesn't have that vibe at all.

Word. Doris Burke sounds like a combo of Hillary Clinton and the old white Karen principal at a public middle school. Not 2023 NBA main team material.

Doris either has dirt on someone powerful at Disney, or works for peanuts, since Disney is hemorrhaging so much money that they had to fire all the well paid ESPN personalities.
