Shame the kid never reached his NBA ceiling at all. When he behind the back crossed Kidd i nthe olympics at 16 for the finger roll, i thought we might have something truly special. but Ricky never put in enough work to overcome his limitations in his youth, he just went with the flow and had fun. bet son is gonna regret that in coming decades lol.

He was a fun passer to watch, but I never had a lot of faith in him as a top tier PG.

What was his ceiling though? Rondo? When you're not quick, explosive, short and can't shoot, there isn't much of a ceiling. And the mechanics on his jumper were so broken that he could be in the gym all day and he was never going to get an NBA level pull up game going.

That being said with his limitations it's amazing how good he really was. Goes to show just how talented he was in that narrow skill range. And I did enjoy watching him play.

layups were an adventure, matador on D, a low IQ guy that was supposed to be a high iq guy...Should have never been a starter on a good NBA team
