REPORT: The Los Angeles Lakers are interested in Dejounte Murray. The Atlanta Hawks would likely ask for Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura for Dejounte Murray.

Meh.
Dont really see the point for either team.

Lateral move.
Ain’t nothing gonna get LeFraud Shames another ring short of every playoff team’s top two players suffering season ending injuries.
Only real positive from my perspective about this, is Murray’s talent would finally get true recognition on a big national stage. (Before he gets diminished to a limited role lol)

Kinda sounds like it's the Hawks throwing out that offer. Lakers can do a lot better with trading Reaves if they chose to do so.

He's a 27 year old guard averaging 20 and 5 playing alongside Trae Young. A lot better than him means an allstar. Who is going to send an allstar for Austin Reeves? I don't even see why the Hawks would give up Murray without some other assets being part of the deal.

Well I didn't say they can get a much better player than Murray, but they can get a better deal in terms of need and fit for their team. Murray does not elevate the Lakers at all, it's a lateral move at best. Murray perhaps can put up better numbers than Reaves but he'd still be the 3rd dog, and now the Lakers would have 1 less shooter, so I don't like that move at all.
Reaves can probably put up 20 ppg in a #2 role in ATL, and the Hawks would also be getting Rui in the deal which fills a need on their team, plus they go from one long-term 30M/yr contract to two much smaller/better value ones that end in '26 & '27 instead of '28 with Murray, which would make them the winners of this trade by a decent margin IMO.
Lakers are in desperation mode, and teams are going to come in with dumb offers such as this one.

Not giving up both for Dejounte. They can have Rui, future first round pick, and any of our youngsters/roleplayers like Wood/Christie/Reddish/Hood-schifano.

Lakers desperate to bail Lebron out of the lottery.

The Lakers do NOT need another PG who is ball dominant and a spotty shooter.
They need way more legit three and D role players and a legit back-up bigman which they don't have.
Lebron and AD are STILL the way to go on this team, so you need players that compliment them and provide depth.
Zach Lavine would be bad too.
They need good "others" like Naz Reid, Derrick White, Myles Turner, etc.

Yea the Lakers don't really need a guy like Murray at all. He's similar to DLo but a little bit smoother athletically. What happens to DLo? Doesn't make sense.
As for the Hawks..Reaves and Rui aren't moving the needle there either.
Lakers really should have gone after OG.

Lakers should fleece some teams (as usual) and get Giannis, Kawhi and Luka in exchange for a bench players so that LeBron can take credit from all three of them and Lakers fans can continue feeling entitled.
