Completely eliminating violence is unrealistic but reducing these kinds of incidents is absolutely possible. The AR15 and any weapon like it should be banned, people with mental health issues and/or violent criminal records should not be allowed to own guns, all gun sales should have mandatory background t ound checks. And those are just the reforms that immediately come to my mind, there is surely much more that could and should be done. There will always be people that get weapons illegally but that is absolutely not a good reason to do nothing. As for why legislation is not getting passed, we all see who is voting"no" and we all know who is giving them money.

It's purely just a title to define infantry use rifles, but the primary function of most firearms is self "defense" against the one "assaulting" who is on the "offensive". Soldiers/infantry are on the offensive.

And any weapon like it that can also fire bullets that fast should also be banned. There is no reason to need to fire 45 bullets in a minute beyond killing a lot of people quickly.
