View Full Version : Who's leading the award races right now?

MVP - Lebron
MIP - Sengun?
6MoTY - Malik Monk
ROTY - Yama/Chet tossup for now
COTY - Of all the awards this is the most narrative driven. I assume TWolves coach wins if they stay top 2.

That look about right?

I wonder how long it will be before people accept the clutch player of the year award as serious. In 20 years, will we see on somebody’s résumé they were a seven time clutch player of the year and that proves they were better than somebody else?

How many would Kobe have received if it existed 20 years ago? Would it become a reputation thing?

I'm impressed with Nick Nurse. He won't get it though.

For the first one, I assume you meant LVP and made a typo.

Sengun is a good MIP candidate, but Markkanen should also be in the conversation.

LeBron is the MVP by default, LOL. But as he won't get it (again) it's Embiid's to lose. If he can play 65+ games and the 76ers defeat the Nuggets in the rematch 10 days from now, I think Joel will get it. If not, I have no idea. I mean Jokic should but if the Nuggets will finish the season the way they are and have been playing he won't get it and then it becomes a coin toss for me. Quite an open race (besides LeBron).

Yeah my bad, somehow forgot to include clutch award and DPOY.

Which is sort of surprising considering Lebron is the current favorite for both.

Did he? Forgot about that. In that case, I'll go with Sengun.

MVP - Embiid
ROY - Holmgren
6MOY - Monk (Hate this award)
MIP - Maxey
DPOY - AD/Gobert (Toss up to me)
COTY - Nurse
Clutch - Shai

Every one of these races is pretty open to me, though most of them are probably a 2 man race.

have to be Hardy? Not inserting The Bum and George back in to the starting lineup was a stroke of genius. Who else could have came up with something so brilliant?

Another great shooter that LeShrivel couldn't carry to the playoffs.

Doesn't he have his team winning something like 12 of the last 14 games or something ridiculous like that? Total overachievement.

Not sure how much credit he deserves since his starting pg, best defender and playmaker wasn't even playing until injuries happened and he's still playing him in garbage time just to get him more minutes because he hardly plays him still despite starting. Sexton now starting and looking like an all-star had a much smaller role yet still plays less than The Bum behind him. Simone was their 11th man before injuries put him into the starting lineup. Guys had to get hurt to win. They could be a lot better if Danny can Hardy proof the roster some more. Not the signs of a guy that has a clue

Not close. Blake Griffin was better, Tim Duncan was much much better. Just two, relatively recent examples. I'll add one more: Magic Johnson. I'll stop here.

Blake was putting up empty stats as a rookie on a shitty team, his impact especially on the defensive end doesn't even come close to Chet

I guess Tim Duncan and Magic but since 2000 Holmgren is for sure the best rookie o have seen in my lifetime
