Having been to quite a few hot chicken restaurants, I can say with confidence you should never get extra spicy. If you go to One in the state of Tennessee, even mild might be what you think extra spicy would taste like. Save the trouble and just go to a Gus fried chicken. It’s all just the right kind of hot.

As someone who puts carolina reaper/trinidad scorpion seasoning in my already "extra spicy" instant noodles, I shall not be following your advice.

He's not kidding. Usually there are 5 tiers of spicy. The I usually go to the middle one and at the right place it's hotter than most people can handle Once you go up to 4 and 5 its borderline inedible.

Reaper and Ghost is nothing. It's all about moderation.

It’s almost like Indian food. You learn not to **** with what they call hot. The level 3 of 6 will kick your ass in an Indian spot.

Thai food sometimes can be super super spicy.

One of my favorite chinese places has a lot of dishes where if you order it normal it’s hotter than extra spicy at most places, they warn you before if they don’t know you. I’ve gotten extra spicy there a few times and it was really good but quite frankly it was too hot. After the first 5 mins or so you can’t really taste the food properly.

Thai joints, at least around me, have 2 levels above Hot called Thai Hot and Double Thai Hot.

I always order curry at least Thai Hot. Usually Massaman or Yellow, sometimes Green. Shit's so good.

But I don't order Tom Yum Soup Thai Hot. That's where it gets a bit dangerous. Because the broth of Tom Yum soup is already strong for most people even at mild/medium heat thanks to all the herbs and juices they put in there. With so much chile powder in the broth as well, it can be a lot. So I usually go regular Hot, or Medium if sharing with friends/family who don't have very high heat tolerance.

After notching his 5th-career 25-point quarter tonight, Devin Booker only trails Stephen Curry (8) in such quarters in NBA history (since 1997-98 when quarter splits were tracked).

Steph Curry - 8
Devin Booker - 5
Kobe Bryant / Damian Lillard - 4
Klay Thompson / Joel Embiid - 3

Throws advice in trash, and keeps dumping entire piles of cracked red pepper flake on his deep dish pizza, over a tablespoon of sriracha into my stir fry, and a tablespoon of cayenne into my pot of jambalaya.

Popeyes “spicy” fried chicken literally is just red food coloring in the flour. Zero capsaicin. Gus’s is about the same, maybe barely a hint of capsaicin.
